After getting my new computer with Windows 7, I loved everything about Win 7 except the versions of Solitaire (Klondike) and Freecell. The old versions from prior windows versions will not work on my Windows 7 64 bit machine. I think they tried to make the cards pretty, but mostly it is hard to look at in my and my wife's opinion. I've idled away countless hours over the years playing Freecell but the Win 7 version is nearly unplayable to me.
I found this Solitaire game with Freecell on Amazon and downloaded the trial version from [...]. After playing it a few times I bought it and am extremely happy. They have a free download of many card faces so one is bound to please you. The Freecell game itself is smarter and handles many of the moves automatically by using a single click of the right mouse button.
I haven't tried the other 723 games, but plan to try a few more.
If you are unpleased with the win 7 card games you might want to download the trial version and take it for a spin.

1.0 out of 5 stars Warning! May 12, 2013
By Greg
This is a warning to anyone who has a version that is not the most current available. If you download one of the free card sets you will automatically have to pay full price to upgrade to the latest version of the game. The program will revert to trial mode, with all the annoying advertisements and pop ups and at the end of thirty days it will stop working altogether.

Follow up: after receiving my complaint they emailed me instructions on how to download and install an older version and have my old registration code continue to work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply THE best! December 4, 2009
I've been playing Pretty Good Solitaire since 1997 when there were only 200 different games. Now they are up to 725 and the best solitaire collection on the market. When I get a new machine, or reload my machine, the first game that goes on is Pretty Good Solitaire. I play it while I'm eating lunch or when I just have a few minutes to play around. You don't have to finish the game you are playing - it saves your place and you can pick up where you left off. There are all sorts of other things you can do like taking a snapshot and being able to go back to that point if you don't like the way the game ends. The back button is my favorite. I can correct my mistakes easily. :-) Thomas and Anne Warfield are always there if you have a problem and always eager to help. They were the first people/business I took a chance on in 1997 and have NEVER been dis-satisfied. If you love solitaire you will LOVE this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars All the Solitaire you could ever want December 4, 2009
I have played this solitaire in many versions over the last 10 or more years and this is the best. Totally supported, many features, love the three deck games and it works with every Windows OS I have had seamlessly. Difficult, easy, mostly skill or mostly luck - pick whichever game suits you mood. The absolute best game software I have ever put on my computer!

5.0 out of 5 stars Super GAMES AND LOTS OF THEM October 24, 2006
PRETTY GOOD SOLITAIRE is far better than "pretty good": it is excellent, with a full range of games that are comprehensive and varying in their difficulty. If you are a solitaire fan, this is a must-have. With the vast number of games available, you will never lack for challenges nor an opportunity to test your mettle against chance and a pack (or two) of cards.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the ONE! December 4, 2009
PGS is just about perfect. And with the many features and options, you can just about customize this software just about anyway you like. If you are a traditionalist and just want to play or if you want to replay every hand until you "get it right" or enjoy playing different solitaire game using the same format, then this is the one for you.

My wife and I have had this game for 5 or 6 years and have not even begun the scratch the surface of what this software has to offer. This company offer so many extras, like seasonal backs of the card, adjust the size of the game for us older folks so we can enjoy the game, frequent updates (not for errors, but additional features and more solitaire variations and their support (not that you hardly ever need it) is quick and friendly.

One of features I especially like is the undo. Other programs have the undo but it is limited (MS Klondike and Spider). On PGS you can back out all the way to the beginning. Some may call it cheating, but it gives me a better idea of the way I should have played instead of how I did. A big help to become a better player.

It keeps score of game won and lost but more important, it keeps track of the games you played, so if there is a particularly hard one that you loss, to play that exact game again but selecting it from a list of games you have played. If you are very competitive, there is a board to display your game status along with thousands of other players.

No software is ever error free, but this one comes very very close. I have run it on many versions of Window and a lot of different hardware, and have not found an error yet.

I have played a lot of other solitaire games for other developers but none compare with this game for easy of use, flexibility, price and features.

1.0 out of 5 stars Junk!! July 7, 2014
By Philip
Verified Purchase
I've purchased thousand of items from Amazon over the past few years. I can say without a doubt, this is the worst piece of junk I'ver ever received. I should have heeded the negative reviews. I wanted a solitaire game for my elderly parents on their new computer. This arrived. No directions with it. I installed and, as other reviewers have reported, at the end of the install process the game launches and tells you you need to pay $25 more to upgrade to the full version. It says this is a trial version. I was quite upset. I tried the trial game, just to see how it was and the graphics are so pixelated, it looks like a software program out of the early 80s on a dos computer. Cards are small and I would have been laughing if I wasn't so upset for being blatantly ripped off. I can't believe they are selling this thing for almost $30 bucks. It is worse than something you'd get from an old yard sale. I called their help support number and it rings forever without even an answering machine. I almost just threw it in the trash and chalked it up to bad luck, rather than waste my time trying to send it back. Then I looked and Amazon again and saw that I paid $20 something bucks for it. I am returning it tomorrow. Unless you like to get ripped off, stay clear of this junk. It's bad enough that it installs as a trial, but the fact that the software itself is so bad makes me steaming mad. Junk!!
