A little lie can change the course of everything. . .

Like every other eighteen-year-old in love, Olivia has dreams of spending forever with the love of her life. Luke is all she’s ever wanted – until she overhears something she was never meant to. In a matter of seconds, Olivia’s heart is shattered. Olivia handles it the only way she knows how - she runs- leaving behind her family, friends and the boy she loves.

Seeking comfort and an escape, Olivia finds it in resident bad boy Deacon. He’s everything Luke isn’t – and that’s fine with Olivia.

Now, seven years later, Olivia is older, wiser and headed back to Chicago looking forward to a fresh start and reconnecting with her best friend Pyper. What she doesn’t expect, is to come face to face with the boy she left behind and discover that even though she may have left, her feelings for him didn’t.

Can Olivia put aside the pain in her heart and trust Luke? Will the ties to her past ever let her go, or will she continue to let her life be affected by pretty little lies?

About the Author

Author Jennifer Miller was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, but now calls Arizona home. Jennifer’s love of reading began when she was a small child, and only continued to grow as she entered adulthood. Ever since winning a writing contest at the young age of nine, when she wrote a book about a girl with a pet unicorn, she’s dreamed of writing a book of her own. Quickly learning that dreams don’t just fall into your lap, she knew she had to chase them herself and not be afraid to dream a little bigger. Most importantly, she is a wife and mother, and is very lucky to have a family that loves and supports her in all things. She also has an unhealthy addiction to handbags and chocolate covered strawberries, neither of which she cares to change.

4.0 out of 5 stars cliffhanger ending!! June 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this story. Loved how well it caught my attention, how quickly I loved the characters, loved the authors writing and of course i loved Luke! The only problem I have is that it is a cliffhanger!! I have read too many stories lately where there is a cliffhanger ending and I have no idea when the next book will be out. I wish authors would let us know beforehand. I would have waited and bought both books together.

5.0 out of 5 stars Romantic Comedy at its finest! June 10, 2013
By Espe
Format:Kindle Edition
In this debut novel from Jennifer Miller, we read about Olivia and her best friend, Pyper. Olivia, dreaming of a happily ever after with her highschool sweetheart, overhears something that changes her destiny. Moving forward, she runs away to the arms of the first boy that takes the pain away. A boy that is bad news all the way around. Just a few short years later, she finds herself divorced and moving back to her hometown to find herself again. Olivia brings Pyper alone for the road to self-discovery. And what do you know...some old friends happen to pop up and make an appearance!

Pretty Little Lies is romantic comedy at its finest. Olivia and Pyper partake in some of the most hilarious antics related to online dating, fashion, and first date disasters. The dialogue is real, it's witty, and filled with strong emotion. As a fashion writer and blogger, Olivia gives the reader a "Fashion Tip" at the start of each chapter. The tips range from the very helpful (check all angles), to the hilarious (no fanny packs)! Olivia's attention to detail really reflects who she is as she rebuilds her life back home.

Pretty Little Lies is sexy, with a hot man included! The romance is beautiful, the emotion is strong. And, as a divorced woman, I can totally relate to that feeling of "finding yourself" again. Jennifer Miller nailed it!

If you want romance, fashion, sexiness, and comedy, Pretty Little Lies has it all! And trust me when I say you will fall in love with Luke and his dimple :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Little Lies June 17, 2013
By Mel
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
At first I felt that the title of the book was misleading - "Pretty Little Lies" - after all, it is one lie that caused the whole chain of events to unfold. Then I realised that it was the lies that Olivia told herself to make herself happy. I really enjoyed watching her grow and change throughout the book - but it wasn't any rushed change, or massive change. Just subtle little things that came about as she experienced new things and got to know herself a little better.

I was a little worried that it was going to be a story where one half of the couple had never moved on and never been with someone else while they searched for their first love again, but was very glad that wasn't the case. Both Luke and Olivia have been with other people in serious relationships and I think that was what helped them reconnect so well - they had that history as well as experience with others to know how good they do have it with each other. I don't think the situation with Rebecca is yet resolved for Luke, as the Deacon situation is yet to be resolved for Olivia. There is really only one main supporting character in the book in the form of Pyper, Olivia's best friend and housemate. Pyper is a great best friend and I really liked her character. She was honest with Olivia and didn't let her wallow in self pity, but was supporting when she needed to be. We all need a Pyper in our lives! I would love to see an off-shoot book that delves further into how she has coped since Olivia moved away, how she has built up to where she is now and hopefully to where she finds Mr Right.

Overall a great read. Some of the paragraphs are a little long winded which did detract from the flow a bit, but still worth 4 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fun Ride!! June 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I had the pleasure of reading Pretty Little Lies by Jennifer Miller. There were so many great things about the book, it's hard to focus on just a few but I'll try. Olivia is young, beautiful, and a successful fashion blogger. Her life took an unexpected direction her senior year of high school, and decisions were made that would set the course of her future. This book has it all- drama, passion, and best of all, humor. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this.

But let's talk for a moment about the dreaminess that is Luke Easton. Luke is serious book boyfriend material. He is sexy, confident, and definitely hot, but there is an underlying sweetness and passion that just makes him extra scrumpalicious. Is that a word? It is now and Luke deserves it. I found myself rooting for Luke right from the beginning and praying he would end up with Olivia. Just as I was starting to feel secure that all was well in the world, the author sucker punched me! The ending was so oh my wow. Seriously? Oh my heck, what did she just do to me?!? I so can't wait for the next installment! Jennifer Miller created an instant fan in me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strong lead character and a comical read October 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've had this one on my kindle for months now and regret not reading it sooner. I thought the book description sounded somewhat cliché, but it does not do this book justice. I adored Olivia and thoroughly enjoyed reading about her character development. She really does come full circle and stands up for herself. Her reactions and feelings were believable throughout the entire book. There were comical parts just at the right times that had me laughing out loud.

Oh, and Luke. What can be said for Luke. I think he is now one of my favorite male leads. I love that he knows what he wants and continues to fight for it. I enjoyed that he was an attractive male, but didn't feel the need to be a complete player and sleep with every girl that looked at him.

It does have a cliffhanger, so if that bothers you I would wait until the second book is released.
