As a book reviewer for Fetchdog (check out the Book Hound blog for a more detailed review) I read A LOT of dog books. Pretty Pet-Friendly, in particular, is a must-have for anyone that has a dog, cat, rabbit, bird, lizard, or even a billy goat. Pet people know how difficult it is to maintain a hip, clean, guest-friendly home when animals are also residents. Julia Szabo tells us exactly how to do it with loads of style and budget options, a FANTASTIC resource guide so you can actually acquire the things she writes about, and years of first-hand experience to back up her suggestions. Here is a book not meant to be read just once and left on a shelf, but consulted over and over as long as you have pets. There are even health and safety tips for your animals, so really no home should be without a copy.

i got the book and read it pretty quickly. It's easy reading. Some of the tips were new to me but the majority were not ones I could use. i'll keep the book but not reccommend it to anyone.

This book is a great reference guide for pet owners. The chapters are broken down, making it easy to find the answers. I love the guide in the back telling where the items mentioned, (by chapter) can be purchased.

Any general lending library needs this fine pet owner's guide.

This book offers advice on how to co-exist with your pet so that you're happy and they're happy. The suggestions on hair maintenance and control were the best and how to clean your home so as to not overwhelm your pet with chemicals are very eye-opening. I wish I had known some of these issues when my asthmatic cat was still alive. The resource guide at the end of the book makes this a great reference book. I just wish there were more pictures or diagrams.
