After a horrible accident Johanna is severly scarred but now she is also scared-someone is after Johanna. Someone twisted who want's the once beauty silenced-forever.I love how Diane Hoh's book aren't just about blood and guts but have a psychological and sophisticated slant to them. Diane Hoh is waaay above many young adult writers in my book!

Pretty Pleasing,

This has to be the best Nightmare Hall book I've ever read. I loved Hoh's idea for the plot, ie. Girl too ugly - to live. The twists and turns will keep you reading until the last page.

This story was a bit weird, but I liked it better than the other books in this series that I read. The storyline might be a bit cheesy to some - she got her face cut up and for some reason someone wants her to cover it up - but the person responsible for the mysterious attacks reveals herself and tells her story. Overall it was an okay book, it just requires a bit of suspension of belief to enjoy.

I am starting to read ALL of the Nightmare Hall books and so far this is the best book that I've read.
In this book a girl named Johanna is apart of a group called "The Beautiful People" one night when "The beautiful people" go to a party a tragity happens and Johanna falls through a glass door and scars her face up. When she goes to school everyone stares at her because of her scars, but one person thinks that Johanna is a litle too ugly to live. First someone starts doing weird things to her: someone covers all of her mirrors with a black velet cloth, someone sends her a hat that has a black face veil on it that covers her face, then someone sends her a make up kit to apply to her face to cover her scars. Then one day Johanna is walking through the woods and all of a sudden someone starts running behind her, attacks her with a trash bag and covers her face up and tells her " You should have listened to my warnings when I told you to cover your ugly face up!" This book is 5 stars because it is soooooooooo good!!!

A truly scary book,

You can't put it down. This book had you reading from start to finish. It's very scary and in some places a little sick in the murder plot ideas. I would reccommend it to anybody who likes horror stories 12+. It may scare young people though.
