4.0 out of 5 stars A fun romp through a very raunchy girls school, July 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Pretty Smart [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This movie is the classic good girl/bad girl, haves (although everyone is loaded)/have nots struggle. The Preens have it all; looks, cash, guys and interview opportunities. The Subs, while they have the cash, lack the haughtiness and guy-catching skills of the Preens. The plot revolves around their struggle which is initiated by the slimy school headmaster and involves two sisters, one a Preen and one a Sub. Turns out the Headmaster keeps them at each-others throats so no one will notice his illegal dealings (got to watch to find out)! A lot of sex and snobbery in this, but a lot of fun (rather like a good, old-fashioned slumber party movie for grown-ups).

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this movie!, July 24, 2004
This review is from: Pretty Smart [VHS] (VHS Tape)
As eighty movies go... this was definitely one of the best. It did not get the attention of say the Ally Sheedy, Andrew McCartey, and Molly Ringwald movies of the day did. But it had a fun, sleepover spirit to it. It was sexy and dark and weird and interesting all at once. I wish this flick was released on DVD. One of the things I remember most about this movie was Patricia Arquette in her early days, her role was small but I couldn't help thinking she had something special. I recommend this to anyone who wants to have a good time watching an good-old fashioned teen angst flick. It has laughs but also has kind of a dark twist to it seeing as how the boarding school is doubling as a front for a drug-runner and he's been filming all of the girls kinky adventures for his own amusement. This is an interesting movie and I'd recommmend it to anyone who loves movies ...and can appreciate the campy fun that comes with watching a movie made in the eighties.

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny and spicy...., July 14, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Pretty Smart [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Lots of attitude from teenagers. Fun and stories from an uncovered site of our lifes. Youth is central role in that movie and depends on you to explore the meanings of the script. It is a bit spicy and I would avoid to talk the synopsis of the film as I would say Watch it once.
