From heart-wrenching ballads to groove-oriented rock/pop, Zicaris acoustic-based songs are hooky and memorable without ever getting tired. You'll want to keep listening. Zicari shows a depth to her performance and an evolution in her songwriting not yet heard on previous recordings. Zicaris trademark versatility is shown in the songs of Pretty On Thursday, from up-tempo rock to poignant ballads. Zicari takes the listener on a journey through musical genres: acoustic, pop, rock, novelty, country, with even a hint of world music tossed in, all wrapped up in a cohesive sound to make your journey smooth.
Pretty On Thursday goes to a new level of sound and production and features some of the finest musicians the USA and Canada has to offer. The production quality equals what you'd hear on mainstream airwaves. Each song is carefully crafted and will appeal to listeners who remember when the lyric was the thing, when songs had meaning, and to those who miss substance in contemporary music. This recording won't insult your intelligence.

A very bright future,
By Barbara K. (Freehold, NJ United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pretty On Thursday (Audio CD)
This was the first time I ever bought a CD by just listening to a sound clip. If you like artists such as Jann Arden or Dar Williams, Leah Zicari is for you. Her folk-rock sound is light without being boring and there is some great acoustic guitar work. Some of her lyrics actually gave me the chills the first time I heard them. Leah's voice is sweet, pure and sincere. I can't get enough of this recording and I think that Leah Zicari has very a bright future. Also check out her debut CD "Hard Road."

Sensational!,
By Selyna Malinky (NEW BARNET, HERTS United Kingdom) - See all my reviews

Like Barbara, this is the first album that I have bought listening to web clips. I have been a big Fiona Apple fan for some time and thought that Leah would be of the same ilk. I was not disappointed. Her voice is like silk and you can tell that she just loves singing as you can envisage a smile curling her lips with each word. Normally, I have to listen to a song a few times to get into it, but straight from the first track, she had me hooked. I thoroughly recommmend this album and will be certainly asking for Hard Road for my coming birthday. If she ever comes over the pond, I will be the adoring one in the front seat!
