This review is from: The Pretty Village: An Easy-to-Assemble Antique Toy Town in Full Color (Models & Toys) (Paperback)
This is a reprint of a collection of toy paper buildings from 1897. The originals are attractive and this reprint is attractive too. It might have been nice if they would have done a little bit of cleanup, as some flaws in the originals they used as sources are visible, but this isn't too distracting.
At one time, this collection was popular with fans of pre-WWII Lionel and similar trains. Although this toy predates even the very earliest Lionel train by several years, they still look good together. The buildings are a undersized for this use (scale-wise, they're really closer to S scale, or perhaps British OO scale), but so were most of the buildings Lionel sold as accessories at that time. If you're looking for inexpensive structures for a vintage-style toy train layout, this is a good choice. For that matter you might want to order two, and double up on all of the houses.
