When I am spending this kind of $ on an imported CD, without having heard it, I get a little nervous in view of some past bad choices. Rest assured, there is not a bad track on it. The selection of material, from Stevie Wonder to Lennon to Sting, while not Brazilian, seems written for a samba beat as performed by Ono and Deodato. The material is mostly upbeat, rare in this post 9/11 world, but serves as a needed antidote to some of the craziness. The music is also exceptionally well produced, and plays well without any boost in bass or treble even on my car stereo. It will make your world a prettier place.

Lisa Ono is a treasure to behold. Listening to her voice conjures Astrud Gilberto returning from across decades when Bossa Nova was a delightful new form of jazz. Pretty Word and Dream are among her finest, most satisfying albums. You could put these on continuous loop on your ipod and wake up so much happier in the morning for having done it. Try it. You can thank me later.

I bought this album since I heard Un Homme Et Une Femme in a friend's collection. I was familiar with that song (in instrumental) since I was a kid. Since I got it, it never leave my car until now. Feel like the morning breeze with fresh air every time you listening. I can't tell you how, you gotta experience it by yourself..
Just listen, just feel it, do not judge...

Lisa Ono has a unique style - blending Brazilian sounds with her Asian roots. She has impeccable taste in choosing songs that fit her laid back enchanting sound. A real gem!

I first came across Lisa's music from youtube. Since then I've followed up on her work and it was well worth it. I would say that if you're into Jazz, Bossa Nova style music or just good relaxing music then take a listen to this CD.

Get out the blender & the Margharita Mix. Put on your sun glasses, press play and lean back in a beach chair and be prepared for images of blue oceans, tropical breezes and palms. This import is a littly on the pricey side but well worth the purchase price. A wonderful mix of Brazilian sounds that'll transform any drab cocktail party into an atmosphere of tropical delight!
