I must admit that this item appears to offer a lot of nice features on paper for a good price. But that doesn't matter a whole lot when the unit doesn't actually function or measure a blood pressure. My Prevention Ultima Upper-Arm Blood Pressure Monitor DS-2200PV arrived DOA just like everyone else who has posted a negative review here. I took mine apart and found a tube inside the unit that was cracked, presumably due to poor design, as there is a lot of tension on a short 90-degree bend where the tube connects to the outside of the machine.

Calling the manufacturer was unpleasant, as they not only have a difficult-to-understand customer service rep, but they also want you to send the unit back at your own expense PLUS $8 for return shipping. This is an insult considering that the unit was defective on arrival (which does not appear to be an isolated incident). I think I'll be throwing mine in the trash (or better yet recycling it since it is an electronic item) since there is no guarantee that a replacement unit will be any more likely to work properly.

My advice is to stay away and pay a little more for a unit with a better track record... or your own blood pressure may suffer as a result!

I bought one of these several weeks ago and I'm quite happy with it. The readings are pretty accurate when compared to my doctors readings. The software is good, not great. Good enough to put the readings into perspective.
I'd recommend it, even if there seem to be some DOA units out there.
Mine works fine.

I've purchased it on one of a famous deal of the day kind of site and most of the people got was not working properly. Test it before u buy.. Or buy in a store which has a good return policy.
