Instead, this book is a more elementary overview of the basic laws of the game. It is much like the introductory class referees must take before they are certified. The book is certainly readable (I finished it easily in one sitting), but I can only recommend it for beginner referees (say, with 10 or fewer games in the center). Even then, there are better books (for beginners, "The Referee's Survival Guide", for intermediate to advanced, "For the Good of the Game").
Excellent book for grade 9 and grade 8 referees with 1-4 years experience.
Coaches: Buy this book for all the officials who call your games and you will have less to complain about!
