Outside Parakeet Nest Box

I purchased this nest box for my parakeets. Since I put the nest box up on the outside of the cage 2 weeks ago, The female parakeet has become very interested in the box, and spends a lot of time in there. I believe that she in the past few days has eggs in the nest box, and is now spending most of her time in the box.

The box is easy to clean, being externally mounted, and having a hinged top, and sliding half ends.

I like the box, but more importantly, my parakeets like the box.

Please note that installation of outside mount nest boxes require cutting the cage bars where the nest box opening is, but outside mount nest boxes do not take up space inside your cage, which is a big plus.

This is a well built nest box. I had to cut 2 bars on my cage for it to work. The metal hooks screw in easy and hang on the cross bar of the cage. My Parrotlets haven't gone into it yet, but it takes them awhile to get use to anything new.

the box is worth the money. Tha alternative was to build one. There was not an easy way to mount on the outside,so it is now hanging inside the cage, The hole had to be made bigger for our cockatiel. Otherwise great.
