First thing, this cage is not really black, or wrought iron, as it is described on the box. It looks more like an antiqued, hammered pewter finish. Black can be viewed as a harsh color for a cage, but this is truly an attractive looking bird cage. The pictures just do not do it justice at all.
Secondly, all I can say is OMG! This cage is huge! I took measurements before ordering to make sure I had enough space, but once this thing was put together, wow! I did have enough space, but holding up a measuring tape did not prepare me for being able to truly appreciate the enormity of this cage once it was assembled. My bird looks so darn small in it compared to his old cage. I will definitely be getting him some company.
Amazingly, this cage was more expensive on Amazon than where I bought mine from, which was on sale at Petco ($119 with free shipping), but it is way worth every penny. You just cannot purchase a cage of this size for this cheap of a price. And it is very sturdy, way more so than my birds previous one, which was also much smaller and more expensive. I don't know how good it would be for dexterious birds, for the door latches seem slightly insignificant, but for a flock of finches, parakeets or doves, it is more than ideal. The amount of space they will have is incredible. You can put a playset in the bottom of the cage, or even on top of it if you regularly let your birds out. And it has doors everywhere. Two large ones on the front, and 3 on each of the 2 sides.
As others have noted in their reviews (at Petco.com, which I highly recommend reading), the directions are a bit vague in identifying which pieces go where, but by carefully observing them before assembly, you can fairly easily figure them out. Look for holes where the wires go through. If a piece has holes on its bottom end, it is an upper piece. Assembly by 2 people took about 45 minutes, including cleanup. And the only tool needed was an allen wrench which was included.
I ordered it on a Friday, and received it Tuesday, in absolute perfect condition.
I give it five paws, five claws, and more!

Amazon Verified Purchase
I looked for several weeks for a larger cage for our one parakeet Cloud because we were going to get another parakeet and felt that he needed a bigger cage that allowed for a few toys to hang and just a larger space for him to move and spread his wings. We're so happy with this purchase because the cage is huge. I definitely think birds need as large of a cage as possible so they can be happier and more mobile.
It wasn't hard to assemble this cage at all although I did make a small mistake by putting on one of the pannels backwards. But it was a simple fix to turn the panel around. The thing I really like about this cage is that it has wheels on it which makes it easy to move around. It also has a nice pull out bottom tray for easy cleaning.
I highly recommend this cage. We looked at local pet stores and at Petco and on many other sites and this seemed to be the most functional cage at a great price. This cage has worked very well for us. We put a big parakeet ladder in it and our bird loves to move from level to level.

Very nice birdcage!
The finish is nice and has a almost pewter look to it. It has 2 large swinging doors on the front, one on top half, one on the lower half. It also has these smaller doors on the sides that swing out on a spring like thing, I think there are 3 on each side. The shelf on the bottom is handy too, I keep all the bird seed and treats down there! I like the overall look of it! The wheels on the bottom are great; they roll in any direction and are pretty smooth.
It came with 4 big food/water dishes, they have little dividers in the middle, not sure why but I'm not complaining. Still, nice dishes that have perches attached. It also came with 3 big wooden perches that run the length of the cage, perfect fit and they work for most birds. I keep finches and lovebirds in it, the perches are a little too big for the finches though, but they can still sit on them.
Overall the cage seems to be really sturdy considering the wire size. I can move it from room o room without worrying about it falling apart, plus the size is just right; it fits through all my doorways but is still a very big cage!
The directions didn't really help with the assembly at all! In fact they mostly just confused my dad and me, lol! But if you just look at the picture of the cage and eyeball the peices long enough it becomes obvious where all the pieces fit. It was actually really easy, although we goofed up a few times with putting pieces on backwards! Haha, but for the most part it was pretty simple and took maybe 40 minutes for the two of us to assemble it. You really need two people to put it together though! It's not that it's too complicated, but the sheer size of it makes it hard to wrap your arms around to keep it together while putting the screws in. So my dad held the pieces in place while I went arund and tightened everything.
My birds absolutely LOVE all the space they have to fly! They flit around from perch to perch and just look so happy now! It even made my lovebird stop screeching in the morning! You can't really comprehend how large it is until it's put together, it has a real "wow" factor to it! The only complaint I have is that it doesn't have any external food/water dish acceses, you have to stick your arm in the cage to get to them. Not a big problem though!
It arrived SLIGHTLY bent on 2 pieces. I think this happened during shipping though because there was a huge hole punched in the box when it arrived! They were easily bent back into place and it looks fine now. Everything fit together and it works great! The price is wonderful too! Such a low price for a cage his size!!! I definitely reccomend this cage! I don't think you'll be dissapointed!
