The underlying material under the beads is foam so as long as no one touches it, it looks nice from afar. I guess you get what you pay for. One note - the alternating beaded squares are only on ONE side of the clutch. That was a little disappointing - you always have to hold it on one side. Bought as a quick fix and probably should have just spent the extra money.
