Book Description

May 1, 1983
She'd do anything to save her father!

Aldona's father's life hung in the balance and she had to help him - even if it meant selling herself to a man she despised.

Traveling with Lionel Downs to Malta as his wife was the price she must pay. While there, she met Zeb, who hated Lionel even more than she did and who was willing to buy her freedom - for a price of his own!

Zeb offered her shelter but not safety, for he demanded not just her body, but also her heart and soul.

This review is from: Price to Be Met (Harlequin Presents #596) (Paperback)
Aldora Mayhew loved her father Roland very much, and when he married Barbara she tried to get on with Barbara because of her love for her father.
But when Lional Downs, a friend of Roland's, a man Aldora could not abide, told her Roland had stolen money from the company Thackerays he worked for, she didn't believe him, until she saw her step-mother coming down the stairs with a tennis outfit on and a fur coat.
Lional told Aldora he would use his own money to put back the money her father had stolen, if she went away with him to Malta.
So Aldora went because her Roland had a bad heart, and Aldora wanted to spare him any upset. She met Zeb there, he was really Sebastian Thackeray the owner of the company her father and Lional worked for, only Aldora didn't know it.
Also Lional was Zeb's step-father.
Zeb found out how much Lional was paying for the services of Aldora, and he gave her three times the amount, because that's what Lional insisted on.
Then Aldora went home without doing her part.
And the hunt was on.
I liked this book, because of the twists and turns it took.
I also like Susan Fox, Essie Summers, Diana Palmer, Rebecca Winters, and Eva Rutland.
