5.0 out of 5 stars A Keeper!
I listened to this book on audible and loved it. I thought the characters, setting and plot were all well developed. I liked it the most of the last romances I have read. I would say it was exceptional.

3.0 out of 5 stars Guiltypleasure, September 10, 2009
Kate plays the lead in Susan Napier's book Price of Passion, and she is one of the best leads to be featured in the genre. On her way to deliver the news of her pregnancy to her lover, Drake Daniels, she is struck with confusion as to the best way to break the news. While this should be a joyous time, her and Drake are still rather distant emotionally. She wants the baby...he does not. Drake is your typical Harlequin hero, and while he does care for Kate, he hasn't allowed the relationship to get serious. As such, when Kate finds her way on the same beach as Drake, he doesn't believe her "just a coincidence" story, especially since she is in the room next door. Eventually Drake learns the truth and a flood of memories come rushing back that only serve to haunt him. The story is good, the characters are well-developed and break the mold of the typical romance couple. Overall, the book was a fun, light easy breeze that satisfied my inner cravings. Another great book I would highly recommend is JoAnna Wylde's Price of Price of Pleasure: Price of Pleasure or Price of Freedom: Price of Freedom both are guilty pleasures that you don't want to miss.

I'm always up for a little brain candy and this one delivered. It was fun, it was cute, a quick read that wasn't heavy. I enjoyed it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book, light read, June 27, 2009

Overall, a good story. Light read, good for on the beach or at the gym. Ends a tad abruptly, and leaves you wondering what became of the characters' situation. I would certainly recommend this as a fun, easy-to-get-into book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, April 2, 2009

This story is worth reading it but nothing more. The plot is good enough to keep you interested but the love story is not so great as the price: FREEBIE.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute Story, March 20, 2009

A very cute, entertaining story. If you have the Kindle or the Kindle application on the iPhone it's more than worth it's price (free!) I didn't want to put my iPhone down when reading this book, and it actually died because I wasn't paying attention to the battery life. I was completely engrossed.

This was an average read. Story was okay. There really wasn't much chemistry between the two though. She didn't seem to trust him much and yet you really couldn't trust her either as she showed up out of the blue like that and wasn't really honest either. Oh yeah if the author is going to throw in a monkey wrench, like the long lost father, it would have been nice to have the issue of such completely resolved instead of leaving it hanging.

5.0 out of 5 stars I felt the Love, December 18, 2011
This review is from: Price of Passion (Pregnant Mistresses) (Mass Market Paperback)
I loved loved loved this book, it was just perfect. I found with a lot of HP books you are told the Hero and Heroine are in love but you just don't believe it.

This book was different I truly felt that they were in love and you see it through the book not just the end. This book was romantic, exciting, and emotional. I loved it. This author should write more books.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my all time favorite romance novels., September 26, 2011
This review is from: Price of Passion (Pregnant Mistresses) (Mass Market Paperback)
I was able to get a digital copy of this free for Harlequin's 60 year anniversary. It's one of the few books I'll read again and again. Kate, the heroine, is strong but still feminine and vulnerable... still human. Drake, the hero, is more than the handsome rich playboy many authors have. One of the main reasons why I'm always a fan of Susan Napier's work is that her characters are so complex without being unbelievable. There is also the wit of the writing and the ease at which she's able to evoke emotion. American readers do need to be warned that the author is from New Zealand so there might be phrases and terminology that are unfamiliar. In my opinion it doesn't detract from the writing at all, but for some it might make it a bit confusing. In the end I love reading this and suggest it to anyone, just make sure you've got some tissue nearby because it always makes me cry.

Also suggest "Public Scandal, Private Mistress" and "Accidental Mistress" by the same author. "Mistress for a Weekend" is also good but I don't like it as much.

3.0 out of 5 stars Egads!, December 14, 2009
The writing is horrid! Some of the sentences are just over the top-the author just tries too hard. I'll keep reading in the hopes it gets better.
