I swear that the previous reviews must be for a different version of this game. I bought mine at Toys 'R US and haven't looked at it after the first attempt to play it.
I was a little skeptical after seeing that most of the games were card based, but I figured that they would at least be fun. And......the ones that we played through were entertaining. But, the ridiculous amount of setup needed for each game is just plain wrong I think it can be chalked up to the company being lazy or looking to cut costs. The problem is that the "host" for the game has to pick each prize or product being used for each pricing game. This would be fine if they had printed the items on tokens or cards. But instead every single item is included in a prize booklet. Basically before each game you have to go through the booklet and pick the items based on their price level. For example, if you are picking grocery products, you have to write each down on the blanks cards used in the game. The same is done for the game prizes, items up for bid, and the showcases. To "help" the instructions suggested marking each prize/product used with a pencil in the booklet to make sure they aren't used twice. When we played this game, we didn't want to just go down the line and pick the items in the order they were listed. So it took a LOT of time in between each segment of the game. It killed any potential fun in playing the games. I suggest that anyone picking this up, be prepared to make up your own rules to get any mileage out of this game. I think it could have been potentially enjoyable, if they had simply included a few decks of prize cards in place of the booklet. They don't even have to have pictures, just text.
