This review is from: Priceless Caregiving: Stories of Elder Care Success, Courage and Strength (Paperback)
This book is a written advertisement for multiple home care and assisted living facilities. I was looking for encouraging stories and help ideas to keep older clients in their own homes - no creative ideas, just stories on how great the agencies are. The proof reading in this book is non-existent. There are multiple typos and the grammatical errors make the reading difficult. For 25 dollars, for a short paper back, I expect more for my money.

As a contributor to this book & A ComForcare Home Services Owner in the Palm Springs, CA area & San Francisco, CA I can tell you that the value of this book to Caregivers & their Clients will provide hours of interaction & experiences that will probably make a second book necessary.
As a caregiver myself this book reinforces the high calling that the caregiving profession is for our loved ones & the clients we have. The purpose of this book has been acheived!

Inspiration for those dealing with elder care issues,
This review is from: Priceless Caregiving: Stories of Elder Care Success, Courage and Strength (Paperback)
I am Ron Hagberg, owner of Visiting Angels Senior Home Care, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. My business partner, Susan Green, RN, and I are so proud to have had a small part in telling stories of how eldercare services can help relieve family stress related to caring for their loved ones.
The stories in this book are inspiring, encouraging, and offer support to families wanting to help their loved ones maintain their independence and quality of life. Surely everyone knows a family that could benefit from reading this book.

I am Sheila Korn the owner of Seniors at Home, Inc. in San Diego, Ca. I am a contributing author to this heartwarming book. You will be amazed by the wonderful stories that were contributed to this publication, and I firmly believe that every family who struggles with the day-to-day caregiving for an aging loved one should read this book. So many families aren't sure where to turn, but there is help just around the corner.
This book will show any caregiver how to get some much needed assistance with family members they may currently be caring for. Sincerely, Sheila Korn, Seniors at Home, Inc. 619-291-4663 [...]

This review is from: Priceless Caregiving: Stories of Elder Care Success, Courage and Strength (Paperback)
As a contributing author, my copy just arrived. The stories I have read so far, truly are priceless! I applaud not only everyone who contributed stories, but more importantly, Valerie who had the foresight to compile them. Lest we forget, most importantly, those beautiful seniors whose lives touched ours and allowed these stories to be told.
I just read a quote, "Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass - it's about learning how to dance in the rain." At the end of life which is so filled with trials and uncertainties, our greatest task as caregivers is to hold their hands and help them dance. Enjoy the book.....and listen to the music! |
