Review

On her hit television show, Tiny and Toya, Antonia 'Toya' Carter seems to be living the good life. She has a beautiful home, good friends, and is pursuing her dreams. In spite of appearances, hers has been a life of peaks and valleys. Abandoned by her parents as a child, Toya was passed from one family member to another as her mother sank deeper into drug addiction. Feeling unloved and unwanted, Toya fell into the arms of fifteen-year-old rising musical star, Dwayne Michael Carter, known these days as rapper, Lil' Wayne. She ended up pregnant at the tender age of fourteen.

In Priceless Inspirations, Toya takes the reader on a journey through the pain of a teenage mother who struggles to raise a child while still a child herself—all without the benefit of guidance from her own mother. Using the words she recorded in journals she wrote as a teen and the wisdom she has gained in the years since, Toya bares her personal struggles. She poignantly uses her experiences to offer young women real and heartfelt understanding and advice about sex, relationships, motherhood and growing up.

About the Author

Co-star of BET's original series 'Tiny and Toya' and the ex-wife of platinum selling rapper Lil Wayne, Antonia 'Toya' Carter is a popular African American reality show celebrity. She is known by her fans for her famous relationship, but also for dealing candidly on her show with her struggles to raise the daughter she had when she was only 15 years old, as well as for her difficulties with her mother who is a recovering drug addict.

Cash Money/Universal Motown recording artist Lil Wayne, with well over ten millions in sales, unquestionable street credibility, criticall acclaimed, industry accolades, eight Grammy nominations, and four Grammy wins for his multi-platinum selling album The Carter III, has firmly laid to rest all doubt that he is anything less than the best rapper alive today. Wayne's silky flow, along with his uncanny ability to weave incredible metaphors and similes wrapped in taunt rhymes accented by witty punch lines, compel rap fans around the world to hang onto his every word whenever his records are being played.

It's for younger girls, pre-teens and teenagers. I still like the book i couldn't put it down. I was eagered to find out would happen next. I think she needed a little help because her thoughts were everywhere. After reading the book i think that she might not be fully over him as she may think. I'm sure writing this book bought back alot of memories. She wants to move on from being wayne "babymamma/ex-wife" I don't think she can move on from it. First, she still have his last name. Second, they have a daughter together and he even foreward the book. I though that was really nice of him. I think that part of her life will always follow her. Even when she gets married. I'm going to give this book to my 16yrs old sister. I'm sure she will learn something from it.

I've been wanting to read this book for sometime now && it's a very inspirational book for young ladies and women that have been through any struggle in love. The Previous reviews bash Toya for wanting fame and not being able to live her life, this lady is married, has her own clothing store, helping her mom in every way possible, bringing her family together, Plus So Much More and every female that had a negative comment can't accomplish one not even two of those things PLUS be able to smile and talk about it. Who isn't going to still have love for they first love, first husband, child's father, first EVERYTHING ?!? I did and just like she had to sit herself down n move on so has EVERYONE else in life. Point is Toya not perfect because she's in the industry she lives her life day by day like everyone else but has more to cherish then most.

I knew that this was set out to be an inspirational book for younger girls but I found that it was real repetitive. Don't get me wrong, the book was good enough for me to not put it down from start to finish but idk, It just seemed a little all over the place. I do however like how she shared some things within her life that I could relate to without it being based just on her relationship with her childs father. Also some very good quotes and words to live by

I have loved Toya since she came out on Tiny & Toya. I know that's not a great way to start a review, but it's the truth!!! With that being said, I have been waiting on the book since it was spoken on the show that it would be done. Now that it is out, I want to thank you for sharing your life with us!!! I have even more love and respect for you Toya!!! I appreciate all the chapters and Priceless Gems!!! I grew up with both my parents, so I can't relate to your childhood struggles but I totally relate to the boys and friends part of the book. I would encourage you to read this book if you're a growing young adult and older. It is a very helpful book and I'm glad she wrote it!!! BUY THIS BOOK!!!

I have been looking forward to Toya's book ever since she's discussed it on Tiny and Toya. I have a lot of respect for this sister. Even though she didn't grow up in the best of childhoods, I am glad that she had relatives that loved her enough to take her in God bless them as well as the children of her great aunt and uncle because they stood in the gap big time for her. There are those who feel that this book is geared for those younger and I can agree but as one who is middle aged, I really enjoyed reading about this young lady and how she turned her life around. That's what I want to see more of inthis world. Sisters like her achieving in spite of the obstacles. Now as to her mom, I felt if anyone wanted rehab, it should be the mom herself wanting it; Toya wanting it for her isn't changing a thing, but after reading why and how her mom got into drugs, well, I had a whole lot more sympathy for Ms Anita too because that is just sad. real sad. and the fact that her own family dogged her out even though they knew the real deal, that's even worse. I highly suggest you get a copy of Toya's book no matter how old you are. We all can learn from her and I recommend it. Kudos to Dr Farrah Gray and his publishing company for publishing it as well. It don't cost much and won't break your pocketbook, so get a copy today

I totally reccomend this book for all young women to read, The way Toya shares her story of growing up is so rough for any one to have to go through, But I love most importantly how she admit to things she has done and just owns up to. I LOVE IT SO BUY IT....
