Product Description

*SALE PRICES EFFECTIVE UNTIL JULY 4TH* -You will receive 1 rooted cactus pad. Pad will be shipped bare root, without the pot or soil. Please open immediately, and plant in ground or pot. I only ship within the US, including Hawaii and Alaska. -Opuntia, also known as nopales or paddle cactus, is a genus in the cactus family, Cactaceae. Currently, only prickly pears are included in this genus of about 200[1] species distributed throughout most of the Americas. Chollas are now separated into the genus Cylindropuntia, which some still consider a subgenus of Opuntia. Austrocylindropuntia, Corynopuntia, and Micropuntia are also often included in the present genus, but like Cylindropuntia, they seem rather distinct. Brasiliopuntia and Miqueliopuntia are closer relatives of Opuntia. -The most common culinary species is the Indian fig opuntia (O. ficus-indica). Most culinary uses of the term "prickly pear" refer to this species. Prickly pears are also known as tuna (fruit) or nopal (paddle, plural nopales) from the Nahuatl word nōpalli for the pads, or nostle, from the Nahuatl word nōchtli for the fruit; or paddle cactus. -Info and care instructions along with other plant uses will be included with your order.

This is not the size of the cactus I received. The 3" pot is fine, but the cactus was about as big around as my thumb. I should have waited and found one in a nursery closer to home instead of ordering through the mail. The plant arrived in excellent condition and is thriving nicely, but the picture shown here is very deceiving.

Cactus is doing great. There were two plants in pot; I separated and both look very healthy.
They are slow growing and need very little care.

Received two cactus pods (not looking healthy) without roots, a small bag of dirt, and a plastic pot without any directions. A far cry from what the picture looks like.

I ordered a 3 inch potted plant and the item I received was pieces of the plant I ordered in rough shape(one piece is actually dead the other two are hanging on for life) and packaged very poorly. There is no pot for the plant or soil and no directions on how to care for the plant.

This is a slow grower at least when using a pot. But whats great is that it can be brought inside if you live in a cold climate during the winter. I want lots more.

Just buy in a grocery store. They will be larger, in better shape, and cost less. Hope this helps. These reviews are kind of a pain. To. Any words required.
