Flirtin' with perfection, September 2, 2002
This review is from: Pride & Glory (With Bonus CD) (Audio CD)
Pride & glory is THE best album of the last two decades.
No, seriously, who would have though there was still such great musicians willing to release such a powerful and inspired album without having to display their technic!
Unlike satriani or Vai who just release clinical and almost only for pro's Cd's, Zakk proves he can go beyond that.
This is about Fun, real guts, (hard)rock, a touch of country and a lot of emotion.
ZAKK is a very honest musician, he is the most talented guitar player of his generation-not to mention his piano skills and rough vocals.
Each song on this album is piece of art!
This album smells:sweat, beer, country-side and sometimes tears.
I believe that what makes it even better, is that Zakk doesn't have to prove anything to anybody, so he just plays and it feels good!
In additon to all that magnificence, a bonus cd where Zakk and his friends cover some of the best bands.
And again it is great-cheek out Zeppelin's Time Of Dying.
Not to mention the amazing drum-work of Brian Tichi(did I spell it right?).
Did you know that when this album came out, Zakk came to Brussels, he played for almost 2 hours in a local CD store and then went to the concert hall and played for 3 hours!
Now that's what I call loving music!
The PRIDE AND GLORY cd is clearly about loving music and caring about those who still believe ROCK RULES!

Ronnie Van Zant Would Be Proud!, March 11, 2005
This review is from: Pride & Glory (With Bonus CD) (Audio CD)
This album isn't for the "Johnny come lately" pimple faced Black Label Society fans that have given this album mediocre reviews. This is Zakk at his finest. Pride & Glory shows the incredible writing talent of Zakk Wylde. I love BLS too, but wish he would have pursued the southern rock thing a bit longer. This is a must have for any southern rock lover or Zakk fan. Lighten up headbangers and enjoy the multi-faceted talent of Zakk Wylde! He's a one of a kind true artist!

The Best of Zakk Wylde, March 27, 2005
This review is from: Pride & Glory (With Bonus CD) (Audio CD)
Thats right folks, forget the mindless shread feast that is BLS, this album truely is the best of Zakk Wylde. I've been listening to it since it was first released, and it's still one of my favourite albums. This is truely what Zakk does best, and I've been waiting for a follow up since. Horse Called War, Toin' the Line and Losin' your Mind - southern/hard rock classics. Fading Away, Torn and Tattered - country rock ballad perfection, Hate Your Guts and Hammer and the Nail - comedy genius, and three of the best cover versions I've ever heard on the bonus disc. BLS super fans don't bother, you don't have the taste. Anyone else whose thinking about it buy it now!
