I bought this a long time ago and have used it over and over again. The text is set out well, and the essays, from Jane Austen's time to a little while ago, provide invaluable insight both into Jane Austen and the times of the writers. They are truncated to fit more of them in: I went to find the original essay of Bradley's on Austen and found a lot more there. The essays do not try to befuddle you with jargon and literary theory; they shed light rather than obfuscating. Spend a little extra and get a lot more.
