I Loved the Movie, but the Soundtrack was Better by Far, December 23, 2004
This review is from: Pride & Prejudice Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Okay, I'm a nut for movie soundtracks. If I like the movie, I can listen to the soundtrack over and over and picture the scenes from the movie that accompanied the song and I'm a happy camper. But there are a few soundtracks that I would buy even if I despised the movie (not that I hated this movie...I thought it was great..but that's another review) and this soundtrack was one of them. The songs range from romantic to dance worthy tunes. One song, I think it is called All the Way, makes you just want to be a better person and make a change in your life. It makes me feel good just to hear it. If you can find this soundtrack, do yourself a favor and buy it.

Awesome Soundtrack!!, February 5, 2004
This review is from: Pride & Prejudice Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This soundtrack is just amazing. The songs greatly vary in style, and this just adds to the overall charm of the music. Ben Carson really knows his stuff.
My overall favorites would be "Be With You" by Carmen Rassmusen, "Self Portrait" and "My Giant" by Stephanie Smith. I really hope I hear more from Smith, as she has an excellent voice.
I definitely recommend this CD to anyone, you'll love it!

Playful and Fun Soundtrack, December 27, 2008
This review is from: Pride & Prejudice Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Overall, a very satisfying soundtrack. As with most soundtracks, several are brief traveling or mood setting pieces (example, 9. "Elizabeth's Dream"). Even those are good. Overall the mood of this soundtrack is playful and fun, though other moods come through as well.
4. "Bookstore Suite" just makes me want to tell jokes and time the punchlines with the playful string lines. 10. "My Baby" channels a 50's doo wop group. 11. "Bling Bling Daddy" shortened rap song--not a fan of rap, but clean and cool. "Not Enough of You"--pick your favorite Rat Pack crooner and sing along. 13. "Gathering" -Cool, but more of a background song. 16. "Matchpoint" is a frothy, fun melody--also menu tune for DVD.
Many songs just make you want to dance:
1. "Nothing's Wrong"-love it! (also 24. reprise)
3. "Be With You"--fabulous!
6. "All the Way" -I imagine Smash Mouth could sing this
8. "Jane's Attraction"--when I enter a room, may this song always play! Argentinian guitar yumminess!
15. "Cowboy Rompin'" reminds me of an upbeat REM song or maybe a little mellower version of the Romantics' "What I Like About You"
19. "Solid Comma Girl" sounds a bit like The Church's album "Under the Milky Way"--really like this sound
21. "Life" Start a roadtrip with this song!
22. "Can't Stand the Way You See Me" I laugh everytime I hear this song! The song itself is great (though the end is slowed and prematurely shortened to fit the movie). I'd write it myself if it weren't already written! With the movie memory streaming with it, it's hilarious!
23. "My Giant"
Some are simply beautiful
2. "Cake" --clock ticking in background--hmm, is someone getting older?
5. "Pillowtalk"--no lyrics
7. "Dream on Dream" -you might even cry
14. "Condition of Desperation" (I sing this song for you. My heart's like a clown in a circus ...")
17. "Bingley Leaves" come back, Charlie!
18. "Self Portrait" --go to a coffee shop on singer/songwriter night and if you're lucky, you'll hear something good like this
20. "Mutual Attraction" -no lyrics
