Dr. R.C. Sproul is the founder, chairman and president of Ligonier Ministries, an international Christian education ministry located near Orlando, Florida. His teaching can be heard on the program Renewing Your Mind, which is broadcast on hundreds of radio outlets in the United States and in 40 countries worldwide. He is the executive editor of Tabletalk magazine and general editor of The Reformation Study Bible, and the author of more than seventy books and scores of articles for national evangelical publications. Dr. Sproul also serves as president of Ligonier Academy of Biblical and Theological Studies and Reformation Bible College. He currently serves as senior minister of preaching and teaching at Saint Andrew's in Sanford, FL.

A wonderful book. I love reading it to my two boys (5 & 3). The illustrations are beautiful and the story helps me pass on my faith in a simple allegory. The message of Christ is alluded to in the "fairy tale" from Zechariah. Then presented more directly in the surrounding story of the grandfather and his grandchildren.

Good children's books are those that provide eternal truths that adults need brought back to their remembrance as well. This is such a book. Dr. Sproul is a wonderful communicator and a master of making complex theological themes understandable and boiled down to their essential elements. This book brings out the wonderful message of Christ's provision for our salvation in a tale that will thrill children and adults alike. Hardly do I read it that it does not once again spur me to emotion at what our savior has done for us. Many thanks to one of my favorite teachers.

The Priest with Dirty Clothes may be the best children's book our family owns (and we own a lot of them). The story is short enough that kids under 6 can handle it, but deep enough to convey many of the truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Sin has made us "dirty", and we cannot stand before the King in such filth. So, we must be clothed in the righteousness of the Prince (the King's Son) in order to be in the King's presence. This book does a great job of teaching this truth in a fun way--and the pictures are really beautiful and intricate. Christian parents really need this book.
