The era of the real La Stupenda, Adelina Patti. Around the queen of song we can hear such titans as Calve, Nordica and de Lucia. Just to pick the GREATEST highlights:

Emma Calve's SUPERB Habanera. (Carmen) Being lauded as the greatest Carmen who ever trod the stage Calve dazzles with flawless French, passionate phrasing and subtle style!

Fernando de Lucia's stylistic recording of "Il sogno" (Manon). A lesson for stylistic, graceful singing!

Ophelia's aria by probably the greatest Ophelia ever: The flawless Nellie Melba. Still one of the greatest recordings!

Marcella Sembrich's gorgeous singing in "Qui la voce sua suave". This is what I call STUPENDOUS!

And these are just the crown-jewels! No opera-collection is complete without this historical gem!
