This review is from: Primary Care of the Posterior Segment, Third Edition (Hardcover)
This book is incredibly clinical and incredibly detailed. It works well if you are in your last years or in residency and need a reference for managing your posterior segment ophthalmic diseases. Color pictures are good, as well as descriptions for fluorescien angiography analysis.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chris Gilmartin, O.D., June 21, 2009
This review is from: Primary Care of the Posterior Segment, Third Edition (Hardcover)
This is a detailed account of the underlying etiology for many of the most common disease processes seen by practicing ODs. I don't know of a better text for the OD student looking to gain an understanding of ocular disease in the posterior segment - "Vitreoretinal Disease:The Essentials" might be a close contender. The book makes use of some photographs and diagrams, but the real value is in the complex, but easy to read descriptions of posterior segment pathology. A must have for any OD library!

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent book for any eye care student, January 14, 2009
This review is from: Primary Care of the Posterior Segment, Third Edition (Hardcover)
This book is written by an O.D. with clearly extensive experience in research and patient care. I'm a 3rd year, and have noticed that often in our courses in school, doctors are so used to complex terminology and easily assume we know the background, so they skip over basic (essential) details of how to do things or what things mean. This text starts at the very beginning, such as explaining where exactly dot-blot hemes and cotton wool spots are located, with very clear diagrams. Of course it also proceeds to go into advanced material as well. It is extremely well written and well laid out, I HIGHLY recommend it.
