About the Author
Susan Nations is a literacy coach, trainer, and writing consultant in Sarasota County, Florida, working with elementary teachers to help improve literacy instruction. Susan has taught k-5 grades during her 15 yrs. as a teacher.
Mellissa Alonso is a district resource teacher for elementary reading and language arts in Hillsborough County, Florida, writing and delivering literacy training for more than 500 teachers. She received the Celebrate Literacy Award from the Hillsborough County Council of the International Reading Association.

If you want to create independent thinkers and readers in your classroom...This is the book you are looking for! Great ideas to incorporate in your centers. I have used most of the ideas in my first grade classroom.

I have purchased many resource books on Literacy Centers in the past few years. This is the best by far! It is exactly what I've been looking for to get my literacy centers going correctly. I teach 1st grade and I am excited to start using the ideas in this book. They are explained very well and the centers are simple. I feel they will get the kids reading, writing and thinking on their own. Great purchase!

Let's just say this. I've been teaching for 10 years. I have an outstanding professional dev. library at my school, and I wanted my own copy of this book. It's that useful. You won't want to just read it. It's a book you can use again and again.
