Book Description

Perry Skky Jr. July 3, 2007
Prime Choice
Book 1

Torn between his desire for sex and his desire to please God, Perry Skky Jr. needs some guidance--before he lets down both himself and the Lord...

It's Perry's senior year--and he has every reason to feel good about himself. One of the most popular kids in his class, he's not only the best football player in the state, he's also acing every one of his AP classes. College recruiters are beating down his door to sign him. He even has such a good thing with his girlfriend, Tori, that he finally feels ready to take their relationship to the next level.

There's only one problem. Tori isn't ready. Her Christian beliefs tell her she needs to save herself. And with plenty of girls to choose from, Perry is tempted to break up with Tori and start spending time with someone who is ready for something more. The choice is his: to do what feels good--or to do right by God.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally Something for My Teenage Son, August 24, 2007
This review is from: Prime Choice: Perry Skky Jr. Series #1 (Paperback)
I admit I have not read this book, but my 15 year old son who HATES to read did so in ONE day. I had to beg him to read the first chapter. The next day I came home from work and he had finished it and preceeded to give me a chapter by chapter summary. I have never seen my son so excited about a book. He loved the characters and the story. He said he could relate to everything and the kids in the book were real people like the kind he goes to school with everyday. He is looking forward to the next one and so am I. I really appreciate this author blessing our lives with this book, because if my son couldn't put it down, it's got to be good!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Standing on Principal, July 28, 2007

The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers (RAWSISTAZ.com and BlackBookReviews.net) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Prime Choice: Perry Skky Jr. Series #1 (Paperback)
PRIME CHOICE by Stephanie Perry Moore is the first book in a series featuring Perry Skky, Jr., a high school senior and star wide receiver. He is blessed with academic and athletic abilities, however his hormones are raging and his girlfriend wants to remain a virgin until marriage. Thus, this is the crux of the story, Perry coming into his own amidst the controversy of his life and those of his family and friends.

For Perry there is pressure to perform athletically and to lead the typical jock life, which he resists for the most part, standing on his Christian principals, until he decides to break up with his girlfriend for a walk on the wild side. This decision brings about a host of problems for Perry. Consequently, his two friends find themselves in trouble due to unprotected sex and Perry carries the weight of their issues on his shoulders. Within his family, he literally catches his father in an uncompromising situation, which adds to his burdens, and finally, the ever-present recruiting machine is on his back. What is a young man to do with all of this pressure?

The author has managed to authenticate Perry and his friends based on their backgrounds and she demonstrates that while you may be a product of your environment, you can always change the course of your life and not use that as a crutch. PRIME CHOICE is full of situations and the resolutions teens may face, however it is coupled with wisdom that is a direct reflection of family upbringing. The positions the teens find themselves in, the lengths they go to rectify their problems and their cyclical behavior is very realistic and one which speaks to the heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars GIVE ME THE SEQUEL FAST!!!!!!, October 25, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Prime Choice: Perry Skky Jr. Series #1 (Paperback)
This is a great book for teens and young adults. It's hip and with the programme and talks about stuff that teens and young adults talk about and deal with on a daily basis. Things like curfew, sex, virginity, going steady, dealing with parents - it's all here. There's no preaching down or preaching at - just real talk. I'm a mother and I enjoyed the book. It also gave me MORE insight into what kids deal with today. Sometimes as adults, we forget what growing up is like. Even if you are not a christian you will enjoy this book.
