Works great - rubber insert is the key,

I tried another brand with a wedge-shaped insert, but while it seemed like it gripped solidly, as soon as I slid the window into it, it just gave way really easily. These ones do not - the rubber insert ensures it sticks pretty solidly. Can tighten by hand if you have a strong grip, but a pair of pliers is needed to ensure a tight grip. Not a problem at all. Highly recommended.

Description states that its size should fit up to 1/4", but this is not correct. It was about 1 mm less than that, so my hubby had to file it a little so the lock could be used. Otherwise - works great, if size is right. Measure your windows carefully - if they are exactly 1/4" or more - this would be too big for this particular lock.

Don't waste your money. Doesn't secure a thing.,

Bought several of these as I have many, many windows that needed securing from my children. I put a few on some windows and tested their effectiveness. I was able to slide the window right up without much effort. The "lock" just slid up the vinyl framing. Now, I have over 16 of these things in a drawer. Better off putting them in the trash.
