4.0 out of 5 stars Works well for light-duty use.
This machine works well for someone making an occasional batch of fresh pasta (like me). Those who are complaining about stuck dough - your dough is too wet. Knead more flour into the dough. When the dough is no longer sticky-to-the-touch, roll it through the machine. It will work like a charm.

While this machine does it's job well-enough, you may want to...

1.0 out of 5 stars I returned it...
I ended up returning this item as the roller mechanism stopped working properly. It wouldn't "hold" a roller setting and I was getting pasta sheets that were thick-thin-thick-thin-thick-thin with each crank of the handle.

I upgraded to the "Al Dente" machine by VillaWare (about $10 more expensive) and have been happy with it.

While this machine does it's job well-enough, you may want to upgrade to a more expensive model if you make your own pasta often.

By the way, never wash this, or any pasta machine, with water. Don't worry - the bits of old pasta will flake right off when they dry up. And don't worry about germs - you will be cooking the pasta in boiling water!

I haven't had this machine long enough to tell you if it will go the distance, but it seems reasonably well-made for the price. Not super-sturdy, but good-enough for occasional use.

I found this produced excellent results. The main drawback to this item is
the pedestal heighth being too short to allow the hand crank to turn freely when sitting on a flat surface.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy cheap machine like this, January 4, 2008

I returned this machine because the roller stopped working (stuck or slip) on high (thick) settings (5-7) after several uses. The rollers are also not parrellel so that it produces uneven thickness and feeding speed for the sheet with low (thin) settings (1-3).

This is not the best pasta maker ever, but it works. The cutter could have done a better job cutting the pasta. But it is cheap, rolls pasta out nice and smooth, and makes fresh pasta easy enough for everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's been great for 3 years for making Chinese noodles, December 22, 2009
This review is from: Prime Pacific Stainless Steel Pasta Machine (Kitchen)
I make Chinese noodles every week and and it has been working fine since I bought it 3 years ago. People who broke this machine don't know how to use it. I added some oil into the flour to make the work easier.

The following recipe is what I made for my mother-in-law and she loves it. It's usually very hard to make her happy.

***** Son-in-law Noodles Recipe *****
2 cups bread flour or all purpose
2/3 + 1tbsb water
1 1/4 tsb canola oil
1/2 tsb sea salt
1. run them for 10 - 20 minutes in bread maker with dough setting
2. Add some flour when make noodles in the pasta machine.
3. boil them immediately
4. cold them down in cold water and drain
5. add Chinese noodle sauce and enjoy

1.0 out of 5 stars fraustrating to use--handle keeps falling off & pasta sticks together, January 12, 2008
This review is from: Prime Pacific Stainless Steel Pasta Machine (Kitchen)
I bought this when it was on sale for $10.99, the price was great but the product is so inferior it was not even worth that. I decided to return it because it was fraustrating to use. First the handle kept falling off as I tried to roll dough through the machine. Second, the noodles that come out were not seperated enough to be individual noodles. It was more like a sheet of dough with some lines on them. I thought maybe it was because my dough was too soft, so I added more flour, it did not help either, my pastas still come out stuck together.

I purchase stuff frequetly from amazon, and never had to return anything. This is the first time, and it was easy. The shipping back to amazon is free, and I got credit right away.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pasta at a low price, December 27, 2007

I am fairly happy with the past machine. It works great for rolling out long strips of dough and pretty well for cutting the pasta. My only complaint so far is the plastic clamp handle that has already stripped out and will no longer let you clamp the pasta machine to the counter. I will have to find a replacement or use a C clamp to hold the machine in place. Otherwise, works well enough to make pasta.
