Book Description

September 1, 1995
More than anything else, cable TV reporter Andrea Malone wanted a network job. And it could be hers if she gained a coveted interview with the aging General Ratiff -- especially if she uncovered the secret that drove him into seclusion at his Texas ranch. One obstacle was Lyon Ratiff, the general's watchdog of a son. Andrea had a plan, but had no way of knowing how Lyon's unexpected, undeniable effect on her would change everything, how they both would face a storm of suspicion and betrayal -- and how Andrea Malone would have to choose between the ruthless demands of her profession and the equally strong dictates of the heart.

2.0 out of 5 stars Prime Time, February 22, 2008
This review is from: Prime Time (Mass Market Paperback)
Assured she will be granted a network position, Andrea Malone is determined to get the coveted interview with a retired General. Her only problem is that she has to get by his son, Lyon Ratiff first.

Andrea and Lyon irritate and annoy each other from first sight, but are undeniably drawn to each other.

I can tell this is an early work for SB. The characters are not as well developed, and a lot of attention to detail is missed.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst Sandra Brown I have read yet., November 2, 2005

I'm wondering how Brown has the ability to write great novels such as WHITE HOT or SUNNY CHANDLER'S RETURN and then waste her time and efforts on PRIME TIME which was so lame. Not one aspect of Prime Time was developed. The characters lacked depth, the plot itself was thin and boring, and the dialogue was cliche and predictable.

I wouldn't even recommend this book to die-hard Brown fans.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth reading unless you are into verbal abuse and sex., February 14, 2009
By
This review is from: Prime Time (Mass Market Paperback)
I have read some great books that Sandra Brown has written, but this definitely was not one of them. It was totally unbelievable to me. The macho man was so verbally abusive from the minute he met the heroine and yet she kept jumping into bed with him...she just couldn't help herself according to the author. He alternated between verbal abuse and everything was wonderful, but didn't trust her at all. So in the end when everything was wonderful again and they were to marry, why would anyone believe he wouldn't revert to being the abuser again. It is a typical pattern that an abuser is sorry and promises it will not happen again, and then it does. Yet, in this book, the author wants you to believe that they will live happily after. It makes you ashamed that a woman wrote such drivel. Why would anyone want to make it appear that verbal abuse is acceptable. I would have been "out the door" the first time. This one is in the garbage. I hope she will stick to writing mysteries and leave romance alone in the future.
