Primer is one of my favorite movies, and one of the elements in the film that really stood out to me, was the soundtrack. It was so amazingly ambient, It just took my breath away.

The score has about 9 tracks on it, the lengths of the song vary wildly, but all in all, it's roughly around 11 - 12 minutes total. Not a bad deal at all.

Please view Primer before listening to the soundtrack, it's a film that deserves to be seen by others. Plus, it's always a good thing when you hear the songs you've heard in the film back in undisturbed environment. Each of the tracks has something to do with the film, for example "It's Like It Sings" comes from a direct quote in which Aaron (Played by Shane Carruth, who also directed, wrote, and did mostly everything involved in the production process) talks about how everything is so different in the device that he and Abe (David Sullivan) have created.

It's a great buy for music to put on a drive, to put you to sleep, to stimulate your creative process, or to reminisce about the film. A wonderful soundtrack.

My only complaint is that the run time is a bit short, and I'm slightly disappointed in the fact that some of the other pieces in the film did not make it to the soundtrack.

But, the tracks on here grabbed my attention and spoke to me, and for that, I'm grateful and I have received my moneys worth.

"What's worse, thinking you're being paranoid, or knowing you should be?" - Aaron from Primer

Just color me biased and stop reading this review.
Have been infatuated with every project Shane Carruth has touched since I first experienced 'Primer'.
If you are a budding Shane Carruth fan you will definitely want to read 'A Topiary', watch 'Upstream Color' a million times and buy this score. Go on, buy it!

I am a huge fan of the film, and the soundtrack really adds to the overall experience. Just as Michael Giacchino does with LOST, Carruth really adds to the emotional impact with the score. Recommended to anyone who appreciates droning, emotional, ambient music. There's only one problem here - the entire soundtrack is approximately 12 minutes long. I hesitated at first because of this, but finally bit the bullet.. and I'm glad I did. Yes, its short, but its a fine piece of music that really brings you back to the film. Get it.
