I would have rated 5 stars if two thing were addressed.
1. You need to trim the lower edges where the head pivots in order to get decent movement of the head - a sharp knife works well and yo can see where the neck catches and where to trim.
2. At the bottom of the stand where the pole attaches to the base is not securely welded. If you dont have a welder/of...

3.0 out of 5 stars deer decoy
Came in quickly, easy to put together, made reasonably well. Will be hard to put back in the same box as all parts do not fit easily within the body. I have tried it several times as a doe to try and drawin bucks. Several bucks were curious and stopped to gape at the decoy. Parts don't move in less than a 15 knot wind.

If you dont have a welder/of friend with one, consider a different product. Mine broke on first use when I went to pry it out of the ground...oh yea, don't use the pole attached to the base for leverage - likely why it broke, but still was a weak weld. If you must pry, remove the pole and put it under the base legs as a lever. My base was re-welded and wont be breaking again.

Does it work - oh yeah! Place head on on a buck trail and tilt the ears back as an aggressive stance. My decoy went flying when the buck charged it. Also says not to place scent on the decoy...maybe for that reason. But I put one of those wicks on the antlers with scrape mate and yes it worked. Figured I don't want my buck to smell like a doe and if I use it as a doe don't want it smelling like a buck. As far as the motion goes...once trimmed it works with the slightest breeze assuming its level.

The decoy comes with a bag to transport into the woods. Some people have had probs putting the head, and both legs in the body, but there is a way... head to the right, rear legs to the left (shove them way down there) and front legs center line along the top. When deployed I throw the transport bag into the body cavity.

Also use caution during gun season. AKA dont be down range...safer if used during bow or from tree stand.

Got this decoy as a gift from my wife. It attracts deer every time I set it up. Does are interested from a distance & bucks either charge or walk up to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars It brought bucks in and did not spook them!, December 30, 2011

Loading it all up into the chest cavity sucks but I do not plan on taking it up mountains or difficult locations so it worked fine in the fields and open areas of the woods. It brought a buck in and it ate right next to the decoy without ever spooking.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product, December 13, 2011

The decoy seems to be durable and well constructed. It is light weight and well made. It is very difficult to fit all of the parts back inside the torso, but they all fit back in the carrying bag with ease. It does have to be perfectly level for the head to move and give it the realistic look, achieving this can be very difficult in the hills here in mississippi. However even without the movement from a distance it should be good enough to fool a deer. Overall I like the decoy very much, now I just have to find a big buck to see how he feels about it :)

Used it this hunting season and it seems to work great. Had other decoys and the quality of this decoy is the best yet.

4.0 out of 5 stars decoy review, November 12, 2011

Have used other decoys, only to return to the stores, due to poor construction of excessive weight.
This Primos decoy was not only made well, it was well engineered to be carried to the field. The decoy is easy to set up, even in the dark, the realistic looking tail is also a good touch. I was able to call in a mature (5+yr old) buck to the decoy in pre rut phase. On the flip side there is a right time and place for any decoy, so be aware most does will not like the decoy.

I would rate the decoy 5 stars if the following was met: Add some feathers with dental floss to add to decoy for more movement; make a slightly heavier gauge transportation bag, with an adjustable strap. Also the "moving" head rarely moves even in moderate winds, so a real deer will get nervous fairly quick.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the Scarface, October 26, 2011

This review is from: Primos Scarface Decoy (Sports)
Primos Scarface DecoyI recently had the chance to set up the Scarface decoy near my tree stand. It looks very realistic and is easy to set up. As the wind picked up I watched its head moved slightly side to side (balancing the decoy is critical for the head to sway to each side). The wind wasn't as strong at ground level as up at treetop level. There's no doubt it would move even better with a stronger wind.

Dismantling it to carry it out into the woods (especially while wearing a backpack & carrying a bow) & then doing the same to carry it out (don't want deer to get used to it) is a PITA. However, I solved that problem by laying it down near some brush & under a large burlap camo screen (on my property - not too concerned with theft). This solves the carry problem.

Overall I can easily rate it 5 stars. Shop wisely as prices vary considerably, almost double at some sources.

I got this the middle of last week, hunted with it on Saturday. There wasn't the slightest breeze so even the tail didn't budge the entire time out there, but at least when I had it airing out in my yard the day before the head and tail moved as promised without having to trim anything as some other reviewers have.

No matter, a buck came up to check it out and I got my first deer with a bow! It was a buck I wouldn't have otherwise gotten because he ambled up the field out of range, traveling in a straight path that wasn't going to bring him close enough, but then he saw Scarface and took a detour - bad move! I didn't wait to see if he would attack. When he stopped about 40ft behind the decoy (which was broadside to me) and stared at it I let the arrow fly.

I didn't mess with packing everything into the body. It was 250yd from my truck to where I put him so I just carried the main body with the lower peg section in the body and the head in my other hand, and threw it back in the truck like that when done.

It doesn't come with a full orange carry bag but a orange wrap on the bag. Even though I was on private club property and it's not gun season I took a blaze orange vest and draped it over his antlers for safety.

A couple of hints from good sources I'd read. A decoy needs to be out in the open. If you have it in a wooded area the only deer that will see it are ones that are already coming through anyway, though I guess it could help bring them closer to your stand. Don't have it facing in your direction as other deer will look where it's looking. Don't handle with your bare hands and don't put scent on it unless you know you'll never want to change sexes by adding or removing the antlers.

I considered cheaper bucks that didn't have a moving head and were smaller but I think this will prove worth the difference even though head and tail movement didn't figure in this first encounter.
