Don't think other reviewer knows what this is. IT IS NOT A DUCK CALL MADE OF WOOD for quacking like a hen mallard. Wood Ducks are a member of the whistling duck group like teal, widgeon and pintail. It is a call for WOOD DUCKS. More accurately might be a Wood Duck whistle? Yes, it is made from wood. Specifically a laminated wood. It does a great job of replicating the Wood Duck Whistle. Good range and allows for a very accurate calling with a little practice

This call sounds very realistic. It is very easy to use and looks awesome as well though who really cares how it looks as long as it works. As for the review that said it is terrible, just ignore him he does not even know what ducks he is calling with it.

I just do not advise forgetting it on the dash of your truck the entire off season. It tends to delaminate from that.

There must be something wrong with this duck call. It only emits a high pitch squeal. I bought the more expensive duck call and I hope it was just defective because if this is what they meant to sell, then they are selling trash.
