Product Description

Getting up just got a little easier. Primula 10 cup speak n' brew is the world’s first talking coffeemaker. There is a chip inside that understands your speech. It is used to set the clock or to program the brew time. It also works manually instead of using the talk feature. Just 2 simple steps; press talk, listen and speak. Speak n' brew asks you when you would like your coffee ready. Simply say the time. Speak n' brew answers confirming the time and shows in the display.

Coffee Pot Review

My old coffee pot was a nightmare to set the timer, so I was excited about a coffee pot you can speak to.

PROS:
- No coffee pot on the planet will be easier to set. Press a button, speak the time, and it automatically sets the clock or brew time. It really IS that easy.
- Fast brew time
- Slender design, nice stainless steel accents.

CONS:
- It tells you when you start the brew "Brewing Started" she says (pretty obvious, I was there when I pressed the button), but she doesn't tell you when the brewing is finished or when the auto-shutoff turns off the burner - how odd considering she can be programmed to say anything (my old coffee pot beeped at these points).
- Compared to other coffee pots I've owned, this one is very thin glass. I feel like I'm going to have to be very careful. I would have paid $5 more for thicker glass.
- Lastly, you have to set the brew time everyday. I think it's kind of silly I need to talk to my coffee pot everyday even if I get up at the same time every weekday morning.

IN CONCLUSION:
Pretty cool coffee pot and yes I would recommend. If only they would fix these cons, they would have the ULTIMATE coffee pot.

UPDATE - 2 MONTHS LATER - SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M SAYING, REPEATING MANY TIMES WITHOUT ANY LUCK.

I received the Primula Speak n' Brew as a Christmas gift this year and I love it! Not only does it make delicious coffee, but it talks to you too, and the best part is, you never have to figure out how to set the time! You just tell the coffee maker what time it is and what time you would like your coffee brewed! It's so simple and it works great.

I agree with others that the carafe is too thin. I had a Cuisinart before that I loved, but it quit and I got this one as a gift. The taste does not compare to the Cuisinart, and the thing I don't like about it the most is the fact that the coffee is not that hot. The burner needs to be better, but then again maybe it's because of the thin glass that might break on its own if the burner was hotter. Would not purchase this brand EVER.

This coffeemaker would have gotten 4 stars but without a replacement carafe anywhere to be found (so far) is a very big negative. Also it would be nice if they would have included a voice activated "start" option -- yes, there is a start button -- but! I hope the company resolves the carafe issue and keeps this product in their lineup.

LOVE THE POT. BROKE THE CARAFE - CAN'T FIND ONE THAT FITS.
CAN ANYONE HELP?

MAKES A GREAT POT OF COFFEE. ONE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO REPEAT START TIME
EVERY DAY. BUT, NO MAJOR PROBLEM.

THANKS
