This non-fiction book is better than anything any screenwriter or novelist could ever come up with. The characters are so vivid and the story so tense and so heartbreaking that as you get towards the end of the book you won't know where to turn or who to feel sorry for. You want to know what goes on inside a cop's head? Read this...then see the movie, just as good.

I read this book about 20 years after first seeing the movie when it first hit the theaters. (Great Movie that was shunned by the Academy by the Great Sidney Lumet) In a nutshell it's "can't put down reading". This book is very close to the movie but with longer narrative explanations (of course) but the movie was still true to the book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to read about a real life cop who went to hell and back and who took many of his friends and family with him on the way. The protagonist - Detective Leuci is a person that you can easily see yourself being attracted to and a person who you can hate at the same time.Great Read! Great Story! Isn't that what you want to hear in a review instead of the pyschobable that you usually get?! |
