From Publishers Weekly

Free-spirited Lady Isobel Macleod has resolved never to marry—not exactly normal behavior for a 19-year-old Scottish Highlands noblewoman in 1379. But then, neither is her habit of escaping the confines of her family's castle for wild, solitary rides in the forest, nor her cool-headed, dagger-wielding rescue of a mild-mannered mystery man she finds being tortured by armed men during one of her prowls. After days alone on the run with the captive, who turns out to be the equally highborn Sir Michael St. Clair, Isobel agrees to marry him, both to avoid scandal and because the young knight promises a relationship whose almost 21st-century mutual respect comes close to crossing the border of believability. Fortunately, RITA Award–winning Scott has a flair for colorful, convincing characterization, bringing both protagonists to life in an appealing as well as credible way. The story line, which revolves around the legendary missing treasure of the Knights Templar, also rings true, thanks to a plethora of authentic historical and geographical details—plus deductions that fill in the blanks about this still unsolved puzzle with a logic few real-life detectives could fault. Product Description

This historical romance by the "USA Today" bestselling author Amanda Scott continues the medieval-Scotland saga began in "Lord of the Isles" and introduces a new Macleod sister. When a dashing Scottish nobleman meets an impetuous beauty under treacherous circumstances, they discover something more irresistible than the fabled Templar treasure that they seek....To Lady Isobel Macleod, marriage is a prison and husbands irritating encumbrances. Her domineering father and ferocious brother-in-law have proven as much to her. But when she comes upon Sir Michael St. Clair, master of Rosslyn Castle, being beaten by vicious strangers, she flies to the knight's defense, helps him escape, and flees with him into the rugged Highlands and beyond to the misty Isles. Alone under the stars with the man whose gaze holds her spellbound, Isobel ponders her long-held prejudices. But as their relentless enemy pursues them, she faces a new danger-surrendering her freedom to this fearless yet tender man...and linking her fate forever to the treasure that stirs mankind's greed and imagination to this very day. 4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully Sexy Love Story, December 23, 2005

(REAL NAME)
I love this story. I like the adventure and how the two main character slowly fall in love and learn to trust each other over the space of the book. Amanda Scott's knowledge of the period paints such vivid pictures that her readers feel they're a part of the action, and the underlying sexual tension will leave you squirming in your chair. Amanda Scott delivers a sensuous, humorous, adventurous plot. Isobel is a good heroine--pretty spunky and genuinely good-hearted. You fall in love with Micheal from the get go. I am once again in awe at the brilliant way that this author can weave fiction into and around the rich historical background that she sets her characters into.

If you're looking for a romance novel that is character driven and that has everything necessary for a good, engrossing read, you can't go very wrong with "Prince of Danger" Prince of Danger is is not lust at first sight book but a well formed love story. There are interesting plot twists and we get to know several secondary characters well. The secondary characters are not boring. I love both Isobel's sisters and brother in law. I'm always looking for a diffrent plot line than most romance books have. Prince of Danger has that and more.

PRINCE OF DANGER by Amanda Scott
November 13, 2005

Amazon rating 3/5

"Introduced in Lord of the Isles as a willful twelve-year old, Lady Isobel Macleod is now nineteen and has vowed never to marry. After living with her father until the age of twelve, and then moving in with her brother-in-law Hector and her sister Cristina, Isobel has concluded that women are considered men's property, and she refuses to be a part of it.

In July 1379, as Isobel rides bareback on the lands outside her father's home at Castle Chalamine, she comes across a band flogging a solitary man. She decides to save his life, but is discovered, tied up and thrown into a cave, along with Michael St. Clair, whom she was trying to rescue. To his astonishment, Isobel finds a way to free herself of her bonds, and saves them both. She's not the typical female in medieval Scotland. She's independent and wild, constantly disobeying her father's and brother-in-law's orders. Now, St. Clair has to deal with this uncontrollable young woman, as they flee the villains, led by his cousin Waldron." - Complete review at BookLoons - M. Lofton.

I didn't like this one as much as the previous installment, but it was still fun to see the characters I got to know. I'm giving this one 3 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars exhilarating medieval romance, October 25, 2005
In 1379, in the Scottish Highlands, Lady Isobel Macleod is riding by herself as she does every morning to escape the confines of her dad's home, which she is visiting, when she comes across several thugs whipping a man. She tells them to cease or face the wrath of her father. Instead they bind her and Michael leaving them temporarily in a cave while searching for the rest of the lady's party. Isobel frees them and takes Michael to her home, that of her oldest sister Christina and brother in law Hector "The Ferocious" Maclean (see LORD OF THE ISLES). .

Hector informs Michael St. Clair, brother to Henry about to be named Prince of the Isles, that he will wed Isobel. Michael agrees only if Isobel says yes. Isobel initially refuses, but changes her mind and they wed. They go to his castle where his mother does not accept his new bride. While falling in love, the newlyweds search for the treasure his father mentioned before dying, a treasure that the Kirk of Rome, Pope Urban wants.

PRINCE OF DANGER is an exhilarating medieval romance that stars a fabulous lead female who takes charge in a crisis and a male who knows when to let her lead. The story line is action-packed as the duet struggle to elude his odious cousin Waldron and never slows down when they seek the hidden treasure. Fans of fast-paced historical tales starring an intrepid heroine and a courageous champion will want to read Amanda Scott's latest fourteenth century Highland thriller.
