5.0 out of 5 stars BEAUTIFUL
I can't believe that none of these songs were ever on the radio. Now I am a young African-American woman, the first time I heard this cd I fell in love with country music. I would recommend anyone to buy this cd.

1.0 out of 5 stars I would have called it "Merchandising Moses" .....................
There were 3 cds called "The Prince Of Egypt" released as movie tie-ins. I have only heard the Nashville one, but I think 3 cds takes merchandising greed too far. There are some great artists performing here, but unfortunately all the songs sound manufactured to order, rather than inspired by deep feelings. After all, how likely is it that so many country music writers...

5.0 out of 5 stars The songs are terrific, July 26, 2004

I had an opportunity to purchase this CD while on vacation in Nashville, and it's fabulous. I listen to it over and over and never tire of it. Since I didn't see the movie, I don't know how this collection stacks up to the original sound track, but it really doesn't matter -- I like pop/country and all the songs are great and well performed!

5.0 out of 5 stars I can't believe it didn't get more play, December 28, 2001

This is a wonderful CD. I bought two - one for the house and one for the car. I can't believe it didn't get more play on the radio. The music is a fabulous collection of country artists singing inspirational songs inspired by the movie, The Prince of Egypt. I like it much better than the actual movie tracks - many of the songs could have been used in the movie. If you like country and you like the movie, you need this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful collaberation of Country artists..., December 26, 1998

From the upbeat tune of "Walk In Glory" by Mindy McCready to the slow, touching song "I Will Be There For You" by Jessica Andrews, this album is truly a success, combining the blow-you-away voices of today's Country artists. Definitely a five-star CD in my eyes.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fine soundtrack album, March 30, 2003
This review is from: The Prince Of Egypt: Nashville (Audio CD)
Three different soundtrack albums were released for the movie Prince of Egypt, so although I did not see it, I guess that there was a lot of music in it. This soundtrack focuses on the country recordings, showcasing many different aspects of country music as it was at the time. Although (as far as I know) all songs were specially recorded for the album, some have since appeared on individual albums by the artists.

If you are familiar with any of the featured singers, you will not be surprised at anything here, as each of them adopts their usual style. Your favorite tracks are therefore likely to depend on who your favorite singers are. I particularly like the duet featuring Randy Travis and Linda Davis and the tracks featuring Alison Krauss, Pam Tillis, Vince Gill and Reba McEntire, but every track is wonderful.

This album also marked the recording debut of Jessica Andrews. Her song, I will be there for you, was one of the singles from the album and was also included in her own debut album, Heart shaped world. All the other artists were already established names.

This is a very interesting soundtrack, well worth tracking down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great uplifting and inspiring music..., May 18, 2000
This review is from: The Prince Of Egypt: Nashville (Audio CD)
For anyone on a journey of self-discovery or simply looking for heartwarming and inspirational music, I highly recommend this C.D. My favourite tracks are, "Freedom" by Wynonna, "I Give You To His Heart" by Alison Krauss and "Somewhere Down This road" by Faith Hill. Listen to this C.D., relax and renew your faith! Thanks.
