This review is from: Demon Prince (Futuristic Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book starts out well, capturing the reader's interest with well-placed hints about the underpinnings of the story and the tensions between the characters. About two-thirds of the way through, however, it becomes tedious. I found myself doing something I don't ordinarily do - skipping pages, skimming just enough to keep abreast of the plot - which is usually a clue that this isn't the story for me. I was also somewhat put off by the rapid introduction of sexually charged scenes. These tend to make the book seem immature - reminiscent of the early days of the bodice-rippers. The characters are also given to a lot of somewhat boring mental dialog. My favorite character, alas, was Lucifer the horse! Nevertheless, there is a secondary character named Dane about whom the reader is given just enough information to tantalize - might there be a sequel? Or a prequel? If so, please, cut back on the mental talk, introduce a little more character development through action, and hold off on the sex until it unfolds more naturally!

3.0 out of 5 stars A little slow, but a good story, February 2, 2000
This review is from: Demon Prince (Futuristic Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book had all the makings of a good story, until the author got bogged down in little details and twists and turns. For a romance novel, I had to pay a suprising about of attention to little details that I normally would over look. But to the same extent, I also skipped two chapters in the middle and was able to catch back up with little difficulity. I found that the book started out good, but toward the middle it kind of faded and started to get old. It was a real disappointment for such a good begining. On the whole though, the book was well written and for the most part interesting. A good book if you have the time to give the book the attention that it needs.

1.0 out of 5 stars total waste of money, May 5, 2000

This review is from: Demon Prince (Futuristic Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
it starts out bad but some books get better later in the story. guess what? it got worse. it just talks about a stupid prophecy that never happens in the story. the main idea is good but theres nothing to back it up. if u want a steamy love story this isn't it. theres only one love scene in the book. the author also uses fossil words like 'twas, 'twill and m'lord. i'm usually openminded and like all kinds of books but htis one was just a waste of time. if u wanta good book turn to dara joy.
