Product Description

Editorial Review

Keep baby safe from the danger of mosquito bites with the help of this electronic ladybug repeller. A safe alternative to distasteful and potentially dangerous sprays or lotions, this small, flashing electronic device works on the premise that the sound of a flying dragonfly, the mosquito's mortal enemy, will keep the nasty little critters away. Clip the red-and-black plastic ladybug on the side of the crib or stroller and supposedly it repels mosquitoes up to 30 feet away. Because this review was done in winter, it was impossible to find out if the product's claims are true. Please note: the manufacturer warns that the bug's effectiveness "varies in individual situations." Not intended as a toy. The bug requires one 9-volt battery. --Marianne Painter

1.0 out of 5 stars Fails when put to the ultimate test..., July 5, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Prince Lionheart Lovebug (Health and Beauty)
We took this on vacation to Minnesota (where they joke that the state bird is a mosquito) and were disappointed to find that it didn't work. During the day, when the bugs aren't as plentiful, it seemed to work, but in the evening, it made no difference.

The concept is great, but unfortunately, it couldn't perform...

I used the Love Bug at a family get-together. While the mosquitos weren't as heavy as I've seen them in past years, it did seem to work. Everyone had to find out what that cute bug we had was and what it did. I would recommend the Love Bug for an easy, non-messy way to repel mosquitos.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Bug Repeller worked for me!, August 1, 2004
This review is from: Prince Lionheart Lovebug (Health and Beauty)
I bought a Love Bug Repeller to clip onto
my Chihuahuas car seat. I started to warm
up my car and remembered I'd forgotten something,
so I went back inside ... a couple of minutes later I returned.

Above my car were around 10 Dragonflies.
Which are not very common in my area of CA.
Not sure I've ever seen them ...

So I shut off the Love Bug Repeller and
waited a while for the Dragonflies to disperse.

Then I turned it back on and the returned.

I'm not sure if the Love Bug actually repels
Mosquitos ... but it attracts Dragonflies,
who kill Mosquitos, and that's good enough for me!
