My son has special needs and is potty training late--at the age of 4 and at 42 pounds. I have bought and tried several different potties and been so disappointed because they are either too small, or they are hard and make his legs go to sleep if he sits there long enough, or the pee guard is nonexistent. I thought this one was very expensive, but after getting it, it is worth every penny.

It is taller and wider than any other potty I've seen. The seat is just cushy enough that he has never complained about being uncomfortable. The pee guard is PERFECT. I never thought I could be so happy with a pee guard! :) It's easy to dump out. It's just perfect. I take that back--if it just had a little handle on the back to make it easier to carry with one hand, it would be perfect, but that's a very small complaint.

I can't say enough about this potty. If you have a big kid and are having a hard time finding a potty that actually works, spend the money on this one instead of spending it on several that don't work as well.

I was very excited to get this potty as I was hoping to find something that would encourage my son to sit on it longer and "try" to go longer. I do like Prince Lionheart products and we have their Booster Pod as a booster seat, which has the same cushy seat top. Unfortunately, it was hard to gauge how BIG the PottyPOD was from pictures. I was shocked at the size when I received it. And I felt that the proportions were odd in that this was all chair and very little potty. The receptacle to catch the pee and poop was really small compared to the overall size of the thing. Also, some reviewers noted it didn't have bells and whistles and was simply designed but it really could have been much simpler, in my opinion. It still has more components than it needs and thus nooks and crannies to clean when things inevitably spill over. I like the cushiness of the Prince Lionheart, but why not just make it one or 2 pieces? This item can be disassembled into 5 pieces.

When I brought this out to my son he tried to sit on it (clothed since I was already thinking that this wouldn't work for us) and it wasn't the easiest for him to climb on. I didn't want to imagine him urgently needing to go and struggling to get himself on the "POD". I asked him if he wanted to keep the potty or return it to the store and he said "take it back to store." The boy has spoken.

For people with small bathrooms/homes, this is definitely not a good purchase. This would work best for older children (my son is 2, so probably more like 3-4 years old would be better) or very large children. Although, with the size of the thing, you'd think older children would be able to sit on the regular toilet by that point.

I started looking early at different potty chairs for my son because he was showing the "signs" at about ten months old. However, I came to realize that I didn't like the design of most of the potties out there. My largest concern was that I wanted my son to be comfortable on his chair, and most of the potty chairs have a lid on which the underside has a lip of about an inch or so.. I don't think that would be very comfy digging into my son's back. Plus, a lot of them had so many bells and whistles, so-to-speak, and I want to teach my son to go to the BATHROOM, not play a game. When I found the pottyPOD I was ecstatic - until I saw the price. I eventually gave in and bought it, and I'm so glad I did! He LOVES sitting on it. The seat is cushy, it's the perfect height, I love that the splash guard is so large, but flexible. There's nothing on it to hurt my son, and he's already gone poop on it twice (pee five times). In under a week. He's not quite eighteen months old, and that's a big deal to me, and especially to him.

The only downside I've found in this chair is that it's pretty wide, and my son is fairly thin. It took him a while to get the hang of how to get onto it.

Overall, I love this chair, I'm definitely glad I spent the extra money, and most importantly, my son loves it most.

This is a well-designed, simple potty. The seat is really comfortable (the first time my daughter sat on it she said, "Oooh! Squishy!" with much enthusiasm) and it's not hard for her to get up and down. Because I'm potty training a tall (39 inches) almost three-year-old I was enticed by the idea of a potty that was height adjustable. However, the adjustment seems miniscule and I was a little disappointed. All you do to make the potty taller is flip over the base. At most it's half an inch taller. Still, this is my only complaint. The "tall" height is fine for her and most importantly she likes the potty. Also, I like how easy the potty is to clean. The bowl is on the deep side and the handle is generous so I'm not worried about spills. Would definitely recommend.

Out of all potties that I have tried this is the best hands down. The wide and soft cushion does not leave red marks on baby's bottom, and its height can be adjusted when baby grows. The splash guard is really effective because of its size and angle, so it's especially good for baby boys.

I started my boy early (at 7 months) with the baby bjorn infant potty (BABYBJÖRN Little Potty - White - we were doing elimination communication part time. It worked great until the boy grew up. So at about 12 months I moved up to the baby bjorn potty chair BABYBJÖRN Potty Chair, White. This set back our potty training for a few weeks, since my boy was more interested in removing the collection bucket than sitting on it. I bought the POD because the bjorn splash guard was a joke, and the hard plastic left marks on my baby (I even think his legs went to sleep from sitting on it because it's hard molded plastic). So far I am very happy with the POD. My son is 19 months and in the 90th percentile for height/weight and seems quite comfortable on the POD. Although large, it's negligibly larger than the bjorn potty chair.

This is the perfect potty for a larger kid I originally bought the Baby Bjorn Potty Chair, and its just too small and tips over, he also pinched his fingers between the seat and the chair. This potty is much better it's soft and won't tip over, my son loves it, he is new to potty training and already asked to use it 3 times today.

I got this seat for my 18 month old son who has been showing some interested in potty training. I have an OLD wooden one and felt it was to big for him, he's on the smaller size, 22 lbs at 18 months. I found this to be wider then the picture shown. It is a nice potty chair, maybe better for a bigger child. The cup part comes out nice and easy for easy clean up. Over all its a nice potty chair. A little over priced I think.

We bought this potty chair as a complement to the PL Wee Pod, to make transitioning between the toilet to potty easy. Overall, this is a good potty.

PROS:
- The colored part is quite soft and comfortable to sit on. My son will sit on it for a long time and doesn't seem to get uncomfortable. This is an important feature in a chair to allow a child to sit long enough to learn the concept of what to do.
- The splash guard is quite high.... excellent for little boys! It's also very flexible so he doesn't hurt himself if he should sit awkwardly on it.
- Easy to empty by just picking up the receptacle.
- My son (20 months) can easily get on and off of it by himself when it's set at its low height. (He backs on to it.) I'm not sure why other people said it had to be for older children. He straddles it just fine and his feet easily touch the floor. It is slightly wider than other potty chairs, but it can't be by more than a couple of inches.

CONS:
- Where the soft green part and the hard white part meet, there is a tiny gap. And when my son doesn't quite aim right at the splash guard, the urine can run between these two parts and accumulate. The pieces aren't difficult to take apart and clean, but it needs to be done frequently to keep the potty from smelling like stale urine. A different potty, one that is just one solid piece, would not have this problem. To me this is a huge con!
- Another con, though much smaller, is that it doesn't have a high back. I didn't realize it at the time, but this is important for little boys who need to be encouraged to sit up to "aim down." If my son slouches, the urine goes up and over the potty (and into the crevice!)

All in all, I like this potty. I like that it has a potty seat compliment (Wee Pod) to make using the toilet an easy transition. The splash guard is high and usually does the trick. But the fact that I have to deep clean it with bleach once a week to keep it from smelling leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe this would only a problem with little boys who tend to miss, and would work better for little girls who have better aim?

LOVE LOVE this potty seat. it is comfortable enough that your child can sit and listen to you read a book. Easy Easy to clean and dump. Buy coffee filters (small ones) and put inside for when your child goes #2 so much easier then getting the mess off the potty itself (this will work with any potty seat of course!) and they can be flushed.

My son loves it. He can sat on it more than any other chair and potty. I put a little table in front of it, my son can sit on it watch tv and play his lego for long time. He has kid sofa, kid rocker,cars and others, but I havn't seen him sat on any other chair or potty that long. He has another potty, he never sat on it by himself. I had prepared book or other trick to keep him stay on his old potty,but whatever I try still doesn't work well. However, since he get lionheart pottypod, his first thing when he get up, is sit on that potty. Then I can do something else. I don't have to stay with him and try to make him stay. And I love how it look and how it feel. I also love other product of prince lionheart. I hope I can get one toilet cover as cushy and comfort as this potty.
