Product Description

The ultimate wipesWARMER by Prince Lionheart is the number one selling wipes warmer worldwide. Prince Lionheart wipes warmers all feature the patented Ever-Fresh® System which is guaranteed to help keep your wipes the freshest they can be to soothe Baby's delicate skin. The patented Ever-Fresh System works three ways: 1) Anti-microbial: Both the wipe warmer’s tub and the Ever-Fresh pillow are treated with an EPA approved additive to inhibit the growth of microorganisms that may cause spoilage, odors and mildew. 2) Non-browning: Keeping wipes moist prevents most discoloration from occurring when wipes are warmed. Over time, additives typically found in baby wipes, cause discoloration as they warm. The Ever-Fresh System effectively insulates wipes from the warming surface, preventing browning. 3) Moisture Retention: The Ever-Fresh System keeps wipes moist by an evaporation and condensation process. Micro pores in the pillow trap and release water as needed to maintain moisture content.

It keeps my wipes perfectly warm!

If you don't keep enough water in the bottom, your wipes will get dried out and turn brown - and who has time to keep it watered!
Laney's Mom
The negatives with this product are that the pop-up wipes on top can only be used with Pampers and not Huggies wipes.

My daughter definitely prefers warm wipes and in that respect we love this warmer. No more "startled baby" from using cold wipes. And it's true, we haven't had a brown wipe yet.
However I have one complaint. We've found the only wipes that work with the "pop up" feature are the pampers wipes. We got lots of huggies wipes refills for our shower and they wont "pop up". So be aware of that. We have to open the lid every time. And when you open the lid water WILL spill out.

Okay, honestly, with all those baby items out there I thought that this one was really "over the top" and didn't think to put it on my registry. Well, my little guy had a hard time keeping warm when he was born and definitely hated cold wipes so off to Babies r us went my husband the first day we were home. Oh, what a Godsend this thing is! Now, regarding the browning of the wipes, DON'T put an entire pack of wipes in the unit. Just put about 1/3 of the package in and seal up the remaining wipes in the bag (if using pampers, buy huggies first and reuse their resealable bag), or just use a ziploc. That way, they don't brown, they get warmer TONS faster, they don't dry out, and everyone is happier. I have found that Pampers have a tendency to dry out faster than huggies if you put in a bunch at a time, but other than that, I love this thing! Mine has been operational for almost 3 years now, nonstop and still going. I think this thing is a definite must for every little baby.

I love this for cloth wipes, in conjunction with cloth diapers. It keeps my wipes perfectly warm! I use two kinds of wipes in this warmer... regular adult wash cloths (thin ones, meaning not expensive thick plush ones) for my toddler, and baby wash cloths for my infant such as these Luvable Friends 4 Pack Washcloths, Blue WITH the binding (there are baby washcloths w/o binding but they don't work well for wipes, they tend to roll up while you're wiping, and if it's the middle of the night and you're eyes are half closed... well, anyway, it was only the one time). I fold my washcloths in half, put them in the warmer dry, and pour water (with a little baby bath mixed in) over the top. It doesn't matter if I get them too wet... as I'm using them I just squeeze them out 'till I've got them how I like it. Then, when I'm down to the bottom of the pile, if I have water left over, I just add more wash cloths, and it's already warm. I open the big part of the lid every time I need a wipe, it's fast enough. There are some people who complain about these drying out wipes (paper ones)... why don't these people just add a little water? That's all that has happened when your wipes dry out, the WATER EVAPORATED... add water... good as new.

Ps. since cloth wipes are bulkier than paper ones, I can get about 15 wipes in at a time. It lasts me about a day and a half (with two diapered kids, one an infant) but if I add a little "too much" water, I can just throw a few more wipes in as I need them and it's really quick and easy (I have the extra wipes in a little basket in a nearby cupboard).

We bought a warmer when our baby was about 3 months old, since winter was approaching. A few days after we started using it, she broke out with a vicious diaper rash, which turned out to be yeast. (We treated it with Lotrimin -- the foot fungus/jock itch cream.)

A friend happened to ask "How's the baby," so I casually mentioned the rash. The first thing she said was, "You don't have a wipes warmer, do you?!" She then told me of other mothers who warned her to never use one, because of the propensity to grow bacteria in the warm wet environment. (It's the bacteria that throw off the baby's balance, allowing the yeast to grow unchecked.)

So, after owning this product for only a week, we threw it directly in the trash. Our baby is 10 months old now and we have not had a problem since. Be warned!

I waited until wintertime before I finally broke down and bought a wipes warmer. This product does warm the wipes nicely (without getting too hot), and I use Pampers pop-up wipes anyway, so I've never had a problem with getting wipes out. When you open the lid fully, for any reason, the condensation that builds up will likely spill a little bit of water, so I wouldn't put the warmer directly on any wood surface.

As far as the wipes drying out....I've found that just before it was time to add new wipes to the dispenser, the last 5 or 6 (at least) were pretty dried out. This isn't a crime, but it does annoy me to have to completely waste that many wipes each time you refill the dispenser. If that really doesn't bother you, then go for this warmer; overall it is good.

This warmer is also heavy and of course, being a plug-in appliance, you can't really put it on a corner of the changing table, so just consider that. I had to put mine on the top shelf (just below a drawer) of my changing table and reach down a little for the wipes each time. Just keep in mind that it won't be as convenient to store or put somewhere for everyday use as a plastic Pampers container would be.

I do think the warmer was helpful, but consider this, especially if you're on the go a lot anyway:

Unless you buy a travel warmer or take this warmer with you EVERYwhere you go, your baby is inevitably going to face a lot of "cold" wipes.

So, is this product helpful? Definitely. Is this product necessary? Certainly not.
