I've been using these wipes (with the warmer) for about a week now and thought I'd give my $0.02. The warmer itself is great and very simple to set up and use (even at 3 AM). The wipes seem to be a controversial item, however. I like them. I like them a great deal better than disposable wipes. My son seems to like the fact that they're warm (although he's not too fussy about the cold disposables) and they clean him considerably better than the disposables do (I have yet to need more than one cloth warmie where I've needed several disposables). They are, however, somewhat fragile, but I've got a few suggestions for dealing with that. First, don't throw them in the dryer. I don't care what the label says. It isn't necessary anyway. You're just going to moisten them before you put them in the warmer anyway, so take them right from the washer, wet them with the formula of your choice (I like the water/baby wash/olive oil formula included in the package) and put them back in the warmer. Second, make sure you don't wash them with anything that has velcro on it. I guarantee you a cloth will get stuck to the velcro and will get torn up when you pull them apart. Other than that, I haven't had any problems with them and am really pleased not to be adding the crazy amounts of wipes my kid was going through to landfills.

First off, I am NOT a fan of products that "require" you to buy some specific replacement part for it to work properly, (think disposable diaper genie, vacuum cleaners with special bags, etc.) so I was skeptical about this, and was not in a love affair with it when I was using the sponges. I had this warmer for my daughter, who at first was not cloth diapered, but I bought the wrong one, and just went with it. I bought the replacement pad a few times when using it with disposable wipes, but it still did brown some of the bottom wipes, and sponge was costly and a pain to find.

Fast forward a little to the switch to cloth diaper/wipes. FORGET about that sponge. This wipes warmer is PERFECT for cloth wipes. I have used it WITHOUT THE SPONGE for years...literally, the same one for years. The top didn't close properly a few years ago, I let Prince Lionheart know, and they sent me a replacement cover for free...Three years later, we are still going strong. The wipes are OK, but that's not what I wanted to review. I make my own wipes (which I sell on etsy) and I know most on the market are superior to these ones provided.

Our routine, which works great; Supplies: Homemade 8"x8" wipes (ours are two sided fleece/flannel or two sided minky dot,) any number of solutions (I am a fan of Dr. Bronner's and a little olive oil with lots of water) poured over the wipes just enough to moisten them all (usually about 8 ounces of solution.) I used to roll the wipes, as shown in the picture, but that got old quick, so I (more accurately, my four-year-old) fold(s) the wipes in half and place them stacked one on top of another. On weekends (Friday- Monday) we go through a whole warmer's worth, and I have never had any issue with mold, mildew, or anything else in that time frame.

When I started cloth diapering my baby I thought a wipes warmer was a needless luxury. I was wrong. Using cloth wipes, I was constantly waiting at the sink for the water to get even remotely non-icy. Using this, wipes are already wet and warm and ready to go, including when I need multiples for a really big mess. The wipes seem fresh and I have had no problems with moisture escaping and ruining the changing table.

I will say however, that the wipes that came with the warmer are a bit useless. The care tags on them actually say to wash on gentle and not tumble dry. I do not have time to treat these wipes specially, and they shrank a lot and got much harder when I washed them normally. Also, one immediately snagged on a velcro diaper cover and pulled a big run in the terrycloth. I am using other wipes in the warmer and am very happy.

Works great, easy to use. I use cloth wipes, which fit perfectly, stay very warm and plenty moist. I'd definitely recommend this item! This warmer came with 5 free bamboo wipes, which are very, very soft. (But I don't use them. Instead I use the 2-sided terry cloth wipes I bought at Green Mountain Diapers and at Blue Penguin, since they fit perfectly and don't require any folding, like the bamboo ones do.) In this warmer, you can use water--definitely use distilled, so you don't get any mineral deposits. Or you can make your own wipes solution. (I've found that a weak vinegar solution works the best--8 parts distilled water, 1 part vinegar. It's all-natural, cheap, convenient, and prevents/controls yeast diaper rash.) This warmer also comes with a moist pad to keep wipes from getting too dry, and it seems to do the trick. Mine have never dried out or turned brown. Overall a Must-Have! I can't imagine my nursery without this warmer! Cold diaper wipes just seem cruel--especially during a middle-of-the-night diaper change. Who wants to be awoken like that!

I think the wipes warmer shows up on every list of "useless items you should never buy for a baby and if you do it's only because you're frivolous". Honestly though, if you are cloth diapering it only makes sense to use cloth wipes. I think disposable wipes take 100 years to break down in the landfill, and the average baby goes through 5,000 per year, so that's certainly something to consider. I change my baby in her room, and rather than head to the sink every time I need a wet wipe (which is every diaper change) this allows me to have warm, wet wipes at the ready. I make my own solution to wet them in (witch hazel, water, aloe vera, a splash of Dr Bronners soap and some tea tree oil). I also don't buy the disposable pillows that supposedly go at the bottom. I use a cloth diaper insert soaked in witch hazel and tea tree oil and that keeps everything fresh and non- microbial. Found that the brand of wipes that works well is Thirsties. They are durable, stains come out( usually) and they Last!
