Book Description

July 6, 2006
The tale is of a young man whose 20th birthday becomes the starting point for a series of challenges, not unlike those sometimes dramatized in a coming-of-age story. There is a blend of magic, romance, suspense and adventure.

Introduction

Prince Malu and The Red Sands of Armapour is a magical fantasy/adventure story set in the middle East more than a thousand years ago when magic was still in the air. It begins with a tragedy on Prince Malu's twentieth birthday. His father's enemies in an attack on Armapour murder his parents the King and Queen of Armapour before his eyes. Prince Malu flees for his life and this becomes the starting point for a series of challenges in a coming-of-age story. The story has magic, romance, suspense and adventure as Prince Malu strives to acquire the knowledge and experience that might enable him to avenge his parents' death and regain the throne of Armapour.

Chapter 7: Battle In The Den

The flying carpet landed quietly on a level place just to the right of the den's entrance, it was just as Kumar had described. A dim flickering glow came from the entrance. No doubt it was light from the torches inside, thought Malu. Malu strapped the crossbow and arrows across his back, and then quietly and slowly stepped off the carpet, peering intently into the darkness. He saw nothing at first. Then as he drew his saber a strange greenish blue light appeared in front of him. The sudden appearance of the light startled him so that he nearly shouted aloud. A figure began to form in the light and steadily grew closer. Malu held his saber at the ready preparing to strike this thing. Malu suddenly recognized the figure! It was his father!...
