5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!!!!!!!!!!
This stuff is amazing! I was told about Tiger Balm by my Tae Kwon Do instructor and I am so glad I bought this product. It has 11% Camphor and 11% Menthol in it so it is REALLY strong stuff. I am not going to lie, it sort of feels like your skin is on fire and on ice at the same time. It is a pretty intense experience but feels amazing! If you are looking for an awesome...

1.0 out of 5 stars tiger balm
I am glad I also bought the tiger balm cream, because next to the cream based balm, the tiger balm salve as exemplified by this product is essentially worthless

5.0 out of 5 stars Great pain reliever, June 25, 2008
This review is from: Prince Of Peace - Tiger Balm Ultra, 1.7 oz cream (Health and Beauty)
My local stores stopped carrying this product so I am glad to find a source for Tiger Balm that I use for my back pain. This source was great about informing me of the shipping status, and the product was delivered very timely.

5.0 out of 5 stars It is the Sports Balm, February 6, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Yes, it is the classic sports balm ointment in the red tin, not really a cream as the title says. So it is not white, but more like the color of vaseline. So don't worry when you order. You are getting the balm you are familiar with.

That said, it is pungent and effective. Not the neatest of stuff to use, but it works. This is the cheapest way to buy Tiger Balm.

I have no cartiledge in my knees so they are extremely sore by the end of the day. my muscles are cramped and hurting from the extra effort they must put forth. Tiger Balm really helps relieve the pain and relax the muscles so sleep is possible. I recommend it highly

5.0 out of 5 stars Great relief for Fibromyalgia, April 3, 2008
By
I have Fibromyalgia and use bi-weekly massage therapy to help keep my pain in check. My therapist uses Tiger Balm and I ended up buying my own for use at home in between appointments. Some days, the pain in my thighs, neck and upper back is so bad, I can't sit or lay down in any position for more than 5 mins, let alone sleep well, even with narcotic pain meds. Out of desperation, I started to apply Tiger Balm before going to work (I am on my feet for hours) and every night before bed and the RELIEF is REMARKABLE! My muscles get really, really warm and then the pain disappears, almost completely. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING TIGER BALM!

I learned of this product in 1968 when a friend told me he had used it for the aches and
pains he would get when working out doing Karate- his name was Elvis; my family and he
were friends for several years. I have given other friends Tiger Balm to help them with
congestion and for bruises and sore joints. One lady was 78, still working with horses-she
had a bad knee and said without Tiger Balm she would not be able to continue her horse
business that required caring, feeding etc as well as exercising them. I and my family
use it for the same reasons- it never fails to help with my "bum" elbow and also my knees.
For congestion relief, I put one tablespoon of Tiger Balm in hot water, let it melt and
then hang a towel over my head and inhale the fumes- take care not to let it sting your
eyes! I soak a hand towel in the water, wring it out, fold it, wrap it in another towel
and put it on my chest at night and I can breathe freely. A little rubbed onto
the skin will work, but some people don't like to feel the "warmth" Tiger Balm brings out.
I highly recommend Tiger Balm, and prefer the "white" to the darker balm- especially for
the mentioned uses above. Amazon PLEASE don't stop selling it in the red cans- Those small jars
do not last long enough!
Thank you,
Wanda, "Star-Gate Ranch" So. California

I used to get this at Costco on sale and would stock up. Now I can only get Ben Gay or similar brands. After using Tiger Balm nothing else will do. As far as the people who are in the retail marketing of it: Are the rest of you consumers getting a little fed up with the price deception created by "shipping & handling". The price on the Tiger balm was good but only because they hid the real cost in shipping and handling. It doesn't take [...] a can to ship regular mail. It might for just one can but adding 3 other cans at 1.7 ounces a piece doesn't work out to [...] to ship regular postage.

5.0 out of 5 stars I've tried everything, but nothing works like Tiger Balm, July 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Prince Of Peace - Tiger Balm Ultra, 1.7 oz cream (Health and Beauty)
I'm a chronic pain sufferer, and though not all of my pain can be taken away simply by rubbing on some ointment, it does make my situation a bit more bearable. I've tried everything (aspercreme, icy hot, china gel, pain patches, bio freeze, you name it) but got no relief until a friend recommended Tiger Balm. I recently switched to the ultra strength after the regular strength permanently stained several of my clothing items orange, and I haven't looked back. It has both a warming and cooling sensation that works quickly and lasts for several hours.

It's petroleum-based, so
- I use regular latex gloves (like those your doctor would wear) to apply it (it's hard to wash off of bare skin, and if you touch your face or eyes with coated hands, it's going to burn)
- I have to use a hot water wash to get the sludge off my clothes, but it's worth the energy costs because I'd rather go naked than go without the relief it provides!

I'm not sure why it's listed as a "cream." It's made with and looks like petroleum jelly, not a cream or lotion.

It's become prohibitively expensive in stores near me so I'm grateful for the Amazon sellers who have it in stock for my regular orders. The 1.7 oz can is not only a better price, but a better shape, making it much easier to use every last precious smear. I highly recommend giving it a try, especially if you're a human barometer like I am and you hurt whenever a storm is nearby.
