cool, but where's the manual?,

This game comes with two disks. Since this is the jewel case edition, there's no printed manual. There's supposed to be an on-disk manual, but I can't find it. Did the manufacturer forget about it? I'm not happy with that. Otherwise, it seems like a cool game. I have the original Prince of Persia for Super Nintendo. It was a cool game for its day. Other than the obvious improvement in graphics, I think the best thing about this new game is that you can save your progress more often, which is a good thing for such a challenging game. Incidentally, the new "Sands of Time" game has an even higher "coolness factor", but to me it looks less like the original Prince of Persia (although I haven't played it yet). Most of the traps in "Sands of Time" cause damage to the prince but don't kill him immediately. The prospect of sudden death looming ahead is something POP3D has in common with the original. In fact, in the original game you had to go back to the beginning of the level everytime you die. Sands of Time also has the Matrix-like wall-walking moves, which look cool, but there's nothing like that in the original game.

I decided to buy this game after I played a demo version. I have always been a big fan of the 2D Prince of Persia game since way back and I was therefore a little skeptical whether the 3D version was going to be as good as the original. Having played it nonstop for hours on end, I can say with confidence that this version not only manages to capture the same level of excitement as the plain Jane version but is also far more realistic in its appearance and interactivity. Trust me, it's no gimmick, the 3D version adds a lot more to the original game, whether in terms of levels, worlds or characters. Not to forget the soundtrack which is now so much better than the tinny music from the original version. Even though it is a little dated at the time of writing, I'd consider this a good buy for anyone who has followed this game since its first release!

I do enjoy this game, but...
I bought this copy in August of 2009. I first installed it on my old Windows 98SE machine. It worked fine until I finished level 5 (Palace 2). It would show the loading bar progress, reach the end, then... nothing. It would just stay at that screen. I tried installing it on a couple other computers and I got the same thing. I was able to exchange the game. I installed it, played it... Got to the same problem at the end of level 5! Has anybody else had the same issue with the UBISOFT edition of this game? And if so, were you able to fix the problem and how? I found the Red Orb version on EBAY. It works well, I was able to finish the entire game. The Prince moves much faster in the UBISOFT version but I would rather play a whole game with a slow moving character than part of a game with a fast moving character.
