This is a great game, but paying the extra $20+ dollars for the limited edition is not worth it. I only got the limited edition when it was sold on Amazon on sale for $29.99.

The limited edition is essentially the regular version plus an extra Blu-Ray disc. This bonus disc has a "soundtrack", making of videos, art gallery, and a snippet of a help guide.

The "soundtrack" was disappointing since you can't play it from a CD player or transfer to an MP3 player. What's worse is that they are more like 2 minute background music loops. Nothing special there.

Some of the bonus videos could have been found on the UbiSoft website.

Art galleries are nice but a paper book would have been better.

The hint guide is more of an ad/preview for the printed version. And since this game is so short... do you really need it? It's also hard to read the hint guide text on the screen unless you have a really big TV screen. I'm guessing that the pages of the printed guide were just saved as JPEG's and not specially formatted for the screen.

I'd give the game itself 4 stars.

The Prince of Persia 2008 Limited Edition was a really fun game and I hope that they make a sequel soon.

Not sure where the limited edition was being sold for $[...] dollars more that the previous reviewer indicated considering I got mine for the same price as the standard edition when the game was first released. So all the extra stuff for no extra cost sounds great to me.

I've never played a Prince of Persia game before this one and I've heard great things about the Sands of Time Trilogy so I decided to pick this up. I'm glad I did because it's a great game and has made me a fan of the series!

The environments are breathtaking and I thought the design of the Prince's guantlet & sword were pretty cool. I loved stringing together different moves to attack enemies however the difficulty of the game could be a little higher. The trophies are relatively easy to get as well but some can be frustrating.

All in all, a great game for the PS3!

I decided to order the limited edition, because the price was right.

I've had it for quite some time now, but I haven't gotten that far into the game yet, so I'll just keep it brief.

The visuals:

I absolutely love the art style for the game. It's cel-shaded and it's absolutely gorgeous.

The game play:

Prince of Persia has a battle system where you engage in 2-on-1 battles (the Prince and Elika versus the bad guy) that is quite similar to most turn based RPGs. Your reactions to the enemies movements as well as your characters' movements require good reflexes. (For instance, blocking attacks and countering attacks.)

It's almost impossible to die in this game--during battle and on the field. Elika will heal you when your life is low with a quick button prompt, and she will save you when you're falling off a cliff with the same method.

The music:

I haven't really paid much attention to the music. The soundtrack really matches the game. It really has a Prince of Persia 'feel' to it.

Overall:

The game is quite nice, mainly because of the visuals, though. The voice acting is not that bad either.

Should you get the limited edition? That is entirely up to you. I only got bought the limited edition because it was well... limited edition.

I wasn't too sure how having a new Prince would affect the series, but the game stays true to its roots despite having a different character as the protagonist. Excellent game if you have enjoyed the previous PoP games.
