4.0 out of 5 stars Prince of Persia
A very lush game, simple to pick up and drops you right into the action. The focus is more on the acrobatics and parkour like moves. The fight-sections are not too long, and sometimes can even be avoided. Excellent and enjoyable banter between the two main characters. But on a regular Mac Pro (4 core) it is quite slow (800x600 on low setting is doable) because of its very...

1.0 out of 5 stars Misleading System Requirements
I have to rank this game low because I never could get it to run properly on my new MacBook computer, in spite of the fact that it met the stated system requirements of "Mac X 10.5.6 OR HIGHER". I have Mac X 10.6.4, so it should have worked. After sending several emails to UBISOFT, as directed in the manual, I finally was told:

I have to rank this game low because I never could get it to run properly on my new MacBook computer, in spite of the fact that it met the stated system requirements of "Mac X 10.5.6 OR HIGHER". I have Mac X 10.6.4, so it should have worked. After sending several emails to UBISOFT, as directed in the manual, I finally was told:

"Unfortunately the laptop versions of the video chipset are not supported. The nVidia 320M came out after the release of the game and was never tested with the software, as well as Snow Leopard. The franchise has moved forward and is no longer creating patches for the older titles."

So my time and money were wasted.

A very lush game, simple to pick up and drops you right into the action. The focus is more on the acrobatics and parkour like moves. The fight-sections are not too long, and sometimes can even be avoided. Excellent and enjoyable banter between the two main characters. But on a regular Mac Pro (4 core) it is quite slow (800x600 on low setting is doable) because of its very high polygon count, and high detail textures (something to really marvel at during the game, when you reach high towers). With a 8800GT it is fantastic on 1280x1024 medium setting.

Well worth picking up and supporting the OsX gaming scene. No protection, DRM etc. Buy it today.

4.0 out of 5 stars Satisfying, October 5, 2010

I was surprised this game ran as well as it did on my 17" MacBook Pro. We all know that Mac user get the short end when it comes to gaming. Anyhow, I just loved the rich graphics and, at times, I felt like I was participating in an interactive movie rather than playing a video game. The story is fun, the characters are beautiful, and the monsters are straight up scary. The level of play was challenging enough to be interesting without being frustrating, and the problem-solving aspects of the game are well-crafted. I was sucked in within minutes, and I wouldn't consider myself a "gamer" at all.

I got this game for only 3 dollars and that's the only reason I bought this game. The game itself also has lots of fun. I really enjoy the game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get a controller....Graphics are too much for a macbook pro 13 inch, January 20, 2011

CONTROLLER

If you get this for the Mac, the box for the game says that the Logitech Dual Action or the Logitech Rumblepad 2 are supported, I had a steel series USB remote and it does NOT work right. Regardless, you will want a controller to play the game because the keyboard isn't gonna work too well. In fact, it makes gameplay next to impossible. I got the Logitech Dual Action and it works but the analog stick only lets you do forward, backwards, left and right and it will NOT let you do any other movements on the analog controller such as the in between areas like between the left and the forward controller inputs.

THE GAME

I have played this game before, it is pretty good. I have always been a fan of the Prince of Persia games. They are probably my favorite game franchise. I hope they release more of the PoP games for Mac. This game is probably not as popular as the others though. I am looking forward to The Forgotten Sands.

GRAPHICS

I have a Macbook Pro 13 inch, 2.4GHz, 4GB of Ram and the GeForce 320M. It is very skippy and not smooth with the technical specs listed, I have bumped the settings down to the minimum and it still plays crappy at this level. Starting to think there is no hope of getting this game to play smooth :(

Nice game, runs good on a macbook pro 13", 2.66 Ghz, NVIDIA 320, at least with low resolution! May be not the best POP game around there, but entertaining!
