More About the Author

I grew up in a small northern Minnesotan town, married my high school sweetheart, had two beautiful children and as soon as we could, we moved to a warmer climate. I have worked with my husband building and decorating custom homes for years. After loving every kind of vampire book, movie, and series, I decided that I wanted to know more. I can write a book I thought, how hard can that be? Well....very hard. But I stuck to it and finished my first book Royal Blood Chronicles Book One, Katrina, The Beginning, in August 2009. There are now six books in that series; The Protectors, The Dark Prince, Cain, the Quest, Bloodline and Legacy, and the feedback has been great. I have also released Phantom Lives - Collier, and new paranormal series, book two of that series Phantom Lives - Power, will be out in Feb. My parents always told me that I could do anything that I wanted, work hard, study, and do it right. I believe that and live that way every day.

I started writing this new vampire series for teens and their moms because I myself wanted something different to read. I was tired of all the modern versions of vampire books, there had to be more to these long lived beings. Where had they been, what had they seen? I wanted, no I NEEDED to know more so Royal Blood Chronicles was born! Strong female characters and action and adventure mixed with romance, friendship and a historical backdrop. Phantom Lives continues with another strong female charater, which is very important to me. Phantom Lives is a modern day, paranormal romance, filled with mystery, magical places and beings. This is the review I wrote that is on the back cover of the third installment of The Royal Blood Chronicles, The Dark Prince.

The Dark Prince, is as fast paced, mysterious, and adventurous as the first 2 books. It continues with the story of Katrina and the chosen five as they leave the old world and travel to America. The descriptions of the scenes combined with a strong story line makes the reader feel as if they are walking the street of the New World with Katrina and her sisters.

It is a true example of the continued strong female vampire leads in this series. In too many of today's vampire stories, the females are portrayed as weak characters that need saving but not in this series. Katrina's continuing story of relationships among family, friends and lovers makes the reader hold its breathe til the very last page and then exhale at realizing that his is just the beginning of the next story.

It combines historical events, with a small dose of vampire history to make a story that modern readers will love. The twists and turns in this book will have you trying to chart who is alive, dead, and none of the above.

The books only continue to get better and the story brings you into the world of the Protectors. At times you will cry, laugh, and cheer as you live their lives and adventure with them.

Book three of this series brought me into a new world, the underworld. This book had me turning pages so fast that I finished it in one day I couldn't put it down. I loved it as much even more than the others. I couldn't wait to read book four.

The Dark Prince is #3 in the line for the Royal Blood Chronicles. Katrina and her friends have grown in their role as The Protectors. This adventure take you on an action-packed magical adventure between Europe and America. I loved all the descriptors subtly embedded throughout the story. They give the reader a sense and feel of the story. Set in historical times author Elizabeth Loraine blends in the elements of other another world as she incorporates the magical races. I love how Loraine has manage to maintain the Vampire's predatory need and disassociate it from the need for sustenance. Crimson? What a delightful idea. This story is a race against time to save all from the evil plotting of her nemeses. The team truly comes together to overcome their challenges. You can feel the love, loss, and friendship woven through this well spun tale.

The Dark Prince had a nice adventurous pace although it was a bit of a challenging read at times. For the reader's convenience the author has incorporated a casting of characters which is an excellent resource if you are following the Chronicles. The book concluded with a teaser that'll have the reader wanting more. I'm so glad that "Cain" is hot on the heels for the Royal Blood Chronicles.
