An entertaining tale of passion, exile, acceptance, and enjoyment,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Prince Silencio (Hardcover)
Ably translated by Claudia Zoe Bedrick, Prince Silencio is charmingly written and brilliantly illustrated by Anne Herbauts, an acclaimed children's author and illustrator with at least seventeen books to her credit, and who divides her time between Belgium and France. Carrying young readers through the an intriguing plot in which the prince's father, intolerant of noise, orders him to keep the people quiet. What follows is the young prince's discovery of his love for noise and his attempt to join the loud celebration of the people when the king has died. Distinctively illustrated throughout and a welcome addition to school and community picturebook collections for children preschool through kindergarten, Prince Silencio is very highly recommended as a purely enchanting and thoroughly entertaining tale of passion, exile, acceptance, and enjoyment.

I loved how she was able to carry out the story in a rich visualization. final touches to the detail of the illustrations were superb. Like the cover page with the uv spot coating was great. Every illustrator should buy this book.
