About the Author

With two historian parents, Sarah couldn't help but develop an interest in the past. She went on to get more than enough education herself (in anthropology) and began writing fiction when the stories in her head overflowed and demanded she let them out.  While her ancestry is Welsh, she only visited Wales for the first time while in college.  She has been in love with the country, language, and people ever since. She even convinced her husband to give all four of their children Welsh names.

She makes her home in Oregon.

I liked the first book ok, but I really didn't feel the need to read the second book. I had also read the review that stated that Anna wasn't in this book much and that turned me off. I really liked Anna. However, I was looking for something else to buy for my Kindle, and at $2.99 this book was a bargain, so I decided to go ahead and buy it. I'm so glad I did! Anna is not in it much, but the introduction of another strong female character makes up for it. This book is well-written, with well-developed characters. If you liked the first book, buy this one too, you won't be disappointed. My only disappointment - that it ended. I will be looking for a "The After Cilmeri Series Book Three". I hope there is one!

Loved all three in the series. If you like Dianne Gilbran's series, you'll love these books. The story line & characters are great with history to boot!

I love novels set in Dark Wales, being of Welsh descent I feel an affinity for this period and Prince Llewellyn ap Gruffydd's gallant endeavor to keep Wales independent. He is surrounded by treachery from the Welsh, English and in his own family. He fights repeatedly until he is murdered resulting in eight centuries of English supremacy.

This series would have been so much better if the author took as much care with language and syntax as she did with her historical re-write (which I for one approve). It is bad enough that the Welsh characters from the thirteenth century talk and think using modern language. The author further insults our intelligence, the Prince explains words like ok as being American, which is the land that Prince Madoc discovered when he left Wales almost a century ago when he sailed away. In addition, she has the thirteenth century characters using words that were not a part of language until centuries later. Maybe I am being fussy but when I read medieval stories, I expect them to talk as they did then, not like people from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries and to have a little trouble understanding us.

Then there is the way that Meg and Anna and later David and Anna arrive, in vehicles that the Prince thinks is a marvelous chariot. If she had not had David and Anna arrive in the same way in her second book this could be more easily overlooked since the car that Meg and Anna arrived in sank into the swamp after the Prince and Goronwy rescue them. Goronwy is very loyal to his Prince and becomes a beloved father figure to little Anna so there is no danger of him telling how the two women arrived. However, years later when David and Anna arrive back in Wales it is during a battle and is witnessed by many on both sides.

This story line is fantastic. How the characters accidentally find themselves in another time. This could have been a disaster in writing, but it is such an enjoyable read.

This is an excellent book. Once you start it you can't put it down. You have to read the entire Aries. At least that I plan to do.
